>>279960132I've been thinking about this a bit more, and I think Aoki is quite a misleading character because you see him be so flummoxed and challenged by Kokonoe. This gives the same impression as a typical herbivore protagonist who is jolted by a forward girl, but actually Aoki is more layered than that; when it comes to his interactions with the adult characters he's quite proactive and assertive. Despite or perhaps because of his naivety he has an unstoppable idealism. He stands up to Shirai's chidings, he goes after Reiji to protect Kokonoe, and he challenges Mimi's mother on her shitty parenting, among many other moments. His kryptonite is very specifically a sexy brat.
