very well animated and good art in the manhwa. the story is pretty middling and the MC is not well developed. I don't mind so much because it's pretty typical in manhwa to have this type of character. if you've read enough manhwa it's extremely predictable but I kept going just for the battle scenes. beru is my favorite and they do some fun stuff in the comics making him chibi and also just how much he wants to please SJW. solo leveling ragnarok (sequel) is better. if you're looking for manhwa to read I wouldn't even rank it in the top 50.

Solo Leveling is the best battle shounen we had for a long, long time because it's exactly how a battle shounen should be: a lame premise that's an excuse for cool fights. It caps out on that and doesn't pretend it's profound or heartfelt. It knows it's fantasy McNuggets and is proud of it. Meanwhile Frieren wants you to think it's filet mignon when it's really just a Big Mac.

In this respect, Solo Leveling is the most honest battle shounen we had since Dragon Ball Z.

just FYI the hunter/gate thing is an entire genre in manhwa and usually the "system" or reason for gates appearing is hand-waved. some stories try to put a twist on it or give a good reason. latna saga the "system" is something that the gods put on people to control them. in murim login the system is part of a vrmmo/other world thingie.
