The only Higurashi moment I remember causing some sort of reaction from me was the nail scene, and only because I lost a nail not that long before the episode aired so the pain was still dress in my mind

"Scary" have always been very subjective.
I mean, who the hell is still afraid of zombies? No writer using zombies would be capable of writing anything where you don't know the MC will live and that other guy is obviously pretending to wear the death flag so he can give it to the expandable girl next to him
