Magapoke must've started censoring stuff more then, but I'm not sure what could've pushed them to do this. The reason K MANGA has had all its censorship in the first place is to comply with App Store regulations (supposedly, I never really looked into it), but Magapoke isn't available in the App Store or PlayStore outside of Japan, and this is still the case, I just checked. I've always assumed the US App Store regulations must be different and that's why K MANGA has to deal with censorship while Magapoke gets significantly less
If they had decided to make it available in the US App Store that would've probably explained the sudden censorship, but as is it looks like nothing's changed so no idea

Isn't Magapoke normally censored? All of the apps that let you read by watching ads are. The only difference is the level of censorship since there's absolutely no standards.

As far as I was aware, the MEGA that has a bunch of series always sourced from Magapoke, and while there was white steam/clouds, there weren’t black boxes before this week (for Japanese versions). Unless I’m mistaken.

yeah, that's my point. it's carried by the scan group and the momentum of the yuri fandom. but it's not an especially great manga really. somewhat similar to what happened to watamote.
I have a feeling that it's going to lose momentum and interest after a while, artificial hype never really last. unless the author manages to make it more interesting, I think people will grow uninterested after a while.
I like My Cousin though, but I'm a little dissappointed that it's not as popular here as in Japan. I sort of doubt that it's going to sell a lot here, which is probably why Kadokawa let Seven Seas license it instead of licensing it themselves. They probably didn't have faith in an English publication

Why? Getting 2-4 print series nominated has been the norm for them. They rarely get series into the top 20 either. In 2023 they managed 14th place with a series that had just finished it's animation broadcast. They profit by drawing users to their sites, not by having their series win.
