I'm guessing this is the actual training (probably something like "the boat leaves at [TIME]. Anyone who isn't on the boat when it leaves will have washed out") and that everything before was just to wear them out as much as possible so they can gauge how they handle that kind of level of stress.
Asumi's always shown to have stamina for days, so they've probably dropped her off furthest away because she's the least fatigued overall.
Real question will be whether there are going to be extra rules around people working together (like the "If you ask for help, or receive assistance you'll be disqualified" rule from the survival training in Rocket Girls) because if there are, that'll be a problem for Asumi as she can't stop herself from going back for her friends (like she tried to do with Marika in the survival pod training)
