One of the recurring themes of this manga is that bad parents and families ruin children's lives.
Takoha grew up with a shitty father and barely managed to keep his shit together, the Kiritas are deeply traumatized rape babies, Augusto is a godawful parent and person who also has a lot of emotional baggage, Deido was deeply hurt and turned into a monster by a terrible family etc., we'll see more of that later too.
Deido does a lot of unforgivable shit throughout the manga, but he's also a victim who was deeply scarred psychologically, and as much as we joke about his autism he's still very capable of empathising and connecting with others, even if his own traumas lead him down a dark path.
