Hi, I'm the guy working on the Yumene translation. Does anyone here read it? I've been looking for feedback since it's the first time I've worked on a serialized manga, but I only ever get the same 8 or so people commenting about whatever on the MD forums. Wish it was more popular since I find it to be better than TLR was.

Yumene's issue is that it probably has zero word of mouth since it was stalled for months right at the beginning and I don't go around shilling my TL, aside from posting an update to my xitter which only a few people actively check.

I'd help out too, but I've already got too much stuff I'm working on.
I'd recommend using stuff like AI generative fill though, it helps significantly in speeding up the process. I only use IOPaint since it's free, but it works wonders, and the stuff it doesn't work particularly well on like screen tones content aware fill in photoshop usually handles fine. I've cut down my amount of time in redrawing significantly after I started using IOPaint. Though photoshop is better, but that's expensive.

NTA but as some who has worked on series before redrawers are hard as hell to find. Typersetters are a bit easier but there’s just not that many of them and most people who do know type setting will just go for a legitimate job at some book publishing place since the job is very in demand. Redrawers are super rare and it’s a hyper time consuming job. It wouldn’t be a stretch to say that series like Yowa Yowa sensei would be weekly translated if not for the fact that there’s way too much work for a redrawer to do

the only thing really hard to find is translators honestly. you'll manage to find typesetters and redrawers if you want, or they can easily train themselves in a short time. translators are way more difficult, you can't suddenly learn Japanese in a month like you can for typesetting and redrawing.
the issue with redrawing is that it's fairly easy but really boring and tedious, especially if you're doing full redraws. same for typesetting, you can do it fairly easily if you want, but if you try to match the original and do full redraws and sfs, it can be a pretty tedious job.
I spent two hours here the other day full redrawing a chapter. it's not that often I spend that much time, but sometimes there's a lot to redraw, even if I use AI generative fill and content aware fill for all they're worth

It works really well for me, and the places where it won't work out, I just use content aware fill or do conventional redrawing. Basically I go through the whole chapter with IOPaint first, use AI generative fill on whatever I can, and finish up the redrawing in photoshop afterwards. I think generative fill probably stands for like 90 percent of my redrawing these days. I'm not a perfectionist though, and I just cover up some spots with big texts and strokes where I don't get it to work out perfectly, though honestly far less often than when I was not using AI generative fill.
