I just disagree.
It's not about levels of menhera or toxicity since that's the whole point and joke of the manga and what all the gags are about. But that's the thing, they're meant to be gags, the set-up is Noa doing something menhera and crazy and the pay-off is being how Rihito shuts her down, sometimes in a way that's also a gag, or her actions explode on her face. Likewise, when Noa actually uses her brain, relents, thinks, tries to improve, she gets rewarded either by the narrative but specially Rihito himself. And the double pay-off from these was seeing their relationship progress and develop and their growth as people.
This set-up has been completely thrown off the window for over a dozen chapters now. Noa is just menhera for free and Rihito takes it for free. And that's it. There's no jokes anymore and there's no character progression anymore either. That page was great for those reasons but surrounding that little moment there was dozens of the no progress no joke ones. It's one step forward and ten backwards. And then there's the retarded coworkers making shit go back ten more steps at that too. And it doesn't feel like it's progression towards some real shit happening, a big moment, a bomb exploding, a big story moment, things just are, Noa is pushing harder than ever meanwhile Rihito is just being a doormat which is really uncharacteristic of him.
I'll also add that Noa's menhera-ness has actually gotten worse as the manga has gone by, sometimes to the point of regression because she was nowhere near this bad before, that's why people are also complaining now when they didn't use to before. It's not "hurr ur reading a menhera manga and complaining about her being menhera durr" it's that it's just shit being thrown at the wall with no rhyme or reason. People may be mixing up IRL with 2D but that's because things are getting uncomfortably realistic, the gag veneer has been getting thinner and thinner as the story keeps going.
