>>279963116One Piece leans into wacky absurd designs. These designs usually take inspiration from general trends but add a twist on them, and the elements are usually combined at the micro level. Morley fits in this category as an ugly looking but uniquely One Piece character. He blends some steampunk and some 70s gay disco elements with crossdressing and mining equipment and then add a trident to that. He's a repulsive character, but it's not a bad design because One Piece has never shied away from those sort of characteers, and his looking ugly works for his gag because he's a giant fat guy who behaves like a shy little girl. I don't find it funny, but "at least it's an ethos". He's not a GREAT One Piece design, but he's still something that you know only Oda could draw.
Lindbergh, meanwhile, is the worst design in all of One Piece, because in a series of interesting freaks, he's probably the most generic combination of elements of all. He takes the steampunk element to the greatest extent while just being a cat guy. There's nothing fundamentally "One Piece" about him. I'd argue he's the least One Piece looking design Oda has ever created. Not that he can't fit in, but that he's so generic he could fit in anywhere. I could imagine him being sold as a porcelin figure in some novelty shop with a little label saying STEAMPUNK CAT.

The entire argument is just the emperors new clothes: pretending pretty women/girls arenโt pretty because they are contemporarily disallowed from buying certain items or voting so as to preemptively eliminate in everyoneโs mind any suspicion of desire to entertain inappropriate behavior with any said girl; I find it absurdly disingenuous and cowardly.
I was once at a large family-friend gathering and saw a girl aged about 8-10. she was the prettiest girl I have ever seen probably to this day. As she walked by, giving me only seconds to look at her in the amount of time which I had been given the opportunity, I had the conscious explicit words run through my mind โthat is the prettiest girl ive ever seenโ and was so dumbstruck I had the compulsion to tell the nearest adult person those exact words in that order, I looked around, head swiveling to meet somebodyโs eyes, without any fear, so confident was i at my earnest surprise being conveyed as genuine and innocent though no other adult was near enough to share my bisbelief. I was at least 16. Itโs my only memory of that gathering. My memory fails to reconstruct how such a beautiful face was possible so young. Iโve never told anyone I had this experience.

There was a lot of dismissal about any notion of the Gorosei being fighters even when they all transformed vs Sabo there were still people that thought they weren't fighters and they were just like Orochi who was a ruler with a DF but no fighter.

Fun fact about the Wano arc: its story structure is based off of the Japanese tradition of Jo-Ha-Kyu, where a story's pacing starts slowly but gains speed as it goes on, building up to a rapid climax followed by a quick ending. You can notice this structure throughout the entirety of Wano; you can even see it in this very chapter. Make sure to keep this in mind when reading through the rest of this arc :)
