>>279970009>everything in Yashahime’s manga needs her explicit approval just to make it through the Storyboarding phase. How new to Rumiko’s works are you? Her “approval” doesn’t mean a damn thing lol, she’s always been a sellout. Ever since the days of Urusei Yatsura when she caved to pressure from her editor to replace Shinobu with Lum as the main heroine and then she quietly seethed after, so much so that she rebooted her original UY concept years later with Ranma, making her true feelings known with the character of Shampoo.
Even the fucking OP title posted here states that the series concept is from Sumisawa and credits Rumiko only as the character designer.
>Or that Shiina has tweeted several times saying he had to cut a scene entirely because of Rumiko’s disapproval. So Sesshomaru being a gay fathercon cute and canon confirmed then? Glad we agree.
>Tell me this Shizo; since you’re so desperate to latch on to the word of choice she used - Hogosha - why didn’t she call Sesshōmaru her Otōsan (お父さん) for ‘father’ or even just a formal Oya (親) for Parent?Because he’s obviously not her biological father and adoption as a concept doesn’t really exist in Japan, especially during the Feudal Era. Rumiko still confirmed that she intended for their relationship to be like a foster care sort of situation so Sesshomaru was raising her either way, which means it automatically counts as grooming if they ever get romantically involved. Good thing this shit isn’t canon though cause a Legal Guardian can only be platonic with zero romantic connotations, even Rumiko herself said it in a way that contradicts a romantic interpretation of their relationship.
When asked how she felt about the Sessrin ship in the interview, she says and I quote:
>FOR ME, in my heart of hearts, Sesshomaru was always meant to be Rin’s Hogosha.Which means she never intended for them to get romantically involved in the first place, Sessrin isn’t canon, you lost, cry about it!
