Not quite, cultivation is Chinese Wuxia, and has those insane power ceilings and magic stuff. Murim is Korean with more of a focus on swordsmanship.
Murim stories tend to be at least sorta interesting since the power balance is much more level. Cultivation is just repetitive, with battles only coming down to who has the bigger number. That said Chinese novels that aren't cultivation tend to be pretty good.

Umm, both genres are Knight Errant stories (These use the same Hanzi as well) Wuxia is basically the same as Murim what you are thinking of in terms of fantastic cultivation with the earth destroying demigods and what not that's Xianxia. Wuxia is basically just what Kung Fu movie with super powers is like but more connected still to mortal realms. Xianxia follows the path to immortality cultivation. For example Breaker series still fits the mold of Wuxia and is not at all Xianxia just yet, the power level is just turned up a bit from those historical but magical Wuxia stories.

Youxia is an older trope where the term Yuusha comes from. (Hero as in a wandering warrior who slays evil doers/monsters.)
