Even the whole "inheritor of their martial arts/memories" thing ended up being echoed by Shen's deal. The proto Tiger Niko plot got hijacked and replaced by Shen's hereditary/clone line deal.
Now we're left with a completely dropped plot about the Niko Style being somehow important to the (now defunct version of the) Tiger's Vessel plan despite Tiger Niko being an outsider to the Worm who Shen is just sort of acquaintances with. All of the key notes are still there, but replicated into Shen's backstory and motivation (or lack thereof).

But at this point it needs to be said... Omega doesn't feel like a Martial Arts manga anymore, you can't even tell what the fuck the characters are doing anymore. All these years and chapters and it doesn't feel like Ohma, Koga or Ryuki have really achieved much. Kazuo regressed to his old self. Gilbert is a joke. Luohan hasn't done anything to show he's evil on-screen, but we're supposed to hate him. Shen is a good, noble, kind, gentle, majestic guy and you should love him because you just should, alright? Also he's just like OUR PROTAGONISTS because he doesn't want to progress the plot. Akoya is STILL missing. Tiger Niko has lost his lustre.
It's funny, Omega is supposed to be about the wider-scale plot and yet it feels completely divorced from what is happening. We had an entire arc where he had to go through the Inside and we just skipped through all the supposedly-brutal shit, OH, BUT ACTUALLY THERE ARE MULTIPLE UNDERGROUND LAYERS OF THE INSIDE! That we won't be seeing! There were literal wars going on with the Worm against states all over the world, and we got to see none of it. I guess Sandro finds it more convenient to have his political intrigue happen off-screen. Like the Westward Wu civil war or the Westward Wu-Kure conflict.
Why anybody would write in an intrigue/large-scale conflict plot and then refuse to actually follow through with any intrigue OR show any notable large-scale conflict is beyond me. But hey, at least we'll get more bad guy humiliation rituals. It sure is satisfying to see actual characters with personalities lose to cardboard-cutouts with zero charisma.

I think Sandro is physically incapable of staying away from his precious favourite characters for more than maybe a month. One of Ohma/Raian/Shen/Agito HAS to be on-screen or just beside the screen at all times. The first 50 chapters probably almost killed Sandro and now he'll never go back to that again.

Luohan has done NOTHING. His introduction to the series was acting slightly zesty after sneaking into the Kengan venue without hurting anyone(unlike Shen, who knocked people out and apparently killed some of them according to the Kures), then got smacked across a parking lot by his schizophrenic abusive clone dad for something he canonly, undeniably, did not do. Ever since then, every character instinctively hates him or gets bad vibes, nobody trusts him, his own allies constantly contemplate backstabbing him on the spot.
