>>279980114>Naruto has one of the most unsatisfying final series of arcs of anything I've ever seen.As much as I love Naruto, this is kinda undeniable. We don't even get to see him marry Hinata or become hokage in the series. Iirc the final episode of Shittuden ends with the camera panning up to the sky and going black at the start of his wedding and then he becomes hokage at the start of Boruturd. Like what the fuck dude.
The problem with everything post-Pain is that Naruto's TRUE goal was always to be respected by everybody in the village, he only ever wanted to be hokage because he believed that was the only way they'd ever see him as more than just a nuisance kid with a monster locked inside of him. After he defeated Pain the village acknowledges him as a hero and everybody loves him, so there's really nowhere left for Naruto's story to go, he already achieved his main goal that he set out to achieve at the start of the story. I think Madara was a fantastic villain with amazing build-up, but overall the war arc is retarded, way too long and drawn out, and Kaguya is an objectively trash villain and a LITERAL ass pull. Madara's appearance should have been more closely tied to Sasuke's character arc specifically instead of to the overall plot of the show, but I guess I can't really think of a much better direction to take things that still incorporates Madara after Sasuke achieves his main goal of "killing" Itachi. I think the war arc's main issue is how long it was and maybe even how grand in scale it was, even though the scale of the war is a big reason for why Madara seemed so badass. Idk, Kishimoto kinda wrote himself into a hole with the Pain arc tbdesu.
