So now that the dust has finally settled. What's the final consensus on this show?
Only real criticism I've seen is that everything felt rushed towards the end, but I guess it's a good thing if people wished it was longer, right? Unlike other actual bad shows that have people trashing them halfway through or earlier.

This series reminded me of the Star Wars sequel trilogy where the only things people care about was the nostalgia bait.

I really liked it, the production values are off the charts. I liked how despite mechs being 3D it emulated the dynamic storyboards of 0079. I loved the mixing in of classic sound effects. And despite how many people (mostly Westerners) complain about it being nostalgia bait, I think saying it didn't have a unique story it focused on is disingenuous. I thought Machu and Nyan are really interesting characters in their own right and their contrast was outstanding. I love Machu especially because she combines very contradicting traits that just work, she may come across as bratty sometimes, but at the same time she's very non-judgmental person. I think it's a 4/10, Didn't like the designs much, Titans disappeared just after showing up. I would have preferred more if it had focused on either the Clanbats and aftermath of the war or the Zeon civil war. I like having a somewhat belligerent and rash protagonist but Machu didn't do a ton of stuff and she wasn't effected much by anything around her.

The first episode is quite literally inverse of Gundam 0079. It starts with wanton destruction of a settlement amid the war, like every Tomino Gundam. It then proceeds by a teenage hero being asked by dad who built a robot to pilot it (it's inverse of Tem Ray, Amuro's dad who built the robot, to get the fuck out, he did not want Amuro anywhere near the robot, who decided to kidnap it against his wish). And ends with Shinji being traumatized and brutalized due to his ineptitude with Unit 01 taking the reigns (inverse of Amuro actually feeling the power of Gundam and finding out he's a pretty capable pilot because he's a Newtype). I dunno. What was the point of this anime in general? I'm not even sure what I saw, but I sure as hell didn't like it all that much. First of all, Gcuacks exists in a weird place where it's actually an AU masquerading as part of the UC even though none of what happens in it can possibly fit the latter's continuity, but at the same time it relies way too heavily on the UC events, characters and lore to stand on its own unlike most other Gundam AUs. Congratulations to that fat slob nerd retard Anno for managing to turn his lame ass Gundam x Getter Robo x Evangelion crossover fanfic into an anime, I guess?. Mobile Suit Gundam GQuuuuuuX is a Khara production, and as such, it's a cynical cash grab made to exploit nostalgia for a better series that this one fundamentally misunderstands. It's a show that suffers from an identity crisis, trying to both be an alternate universe version of the original Gundam that explores a OYW where Zeon won, but also a FLCL-style coming of age story for a group of young Newtypes who don't know how to face the world. Instead of deciding to pick one, the show tries to cram both radically different storylines in a mere 12 episodes, leading to both sides to be criminally underdeveloped due to a lack of breathing room, leaving both the character development non-existent and the world building of such a changed UC a blip on the radar.

Machu is very clearly intended to be a Kamille type character, a rebel who wants to break free into the world but doesn't have a way to so they go straight to violence, but that's basically all her character, she never really grows in any way and never faces consequences for her actions, she ultimately exists as a character the UC cast can give exposition to. Shuji is basically a mix of Kaworu and Lalah, a mysterious boy whose relationship to the MC serves to drive a breaking point, but we're never given explanations on WHO he is and HOW he's involved with the Rose of Sharon at all. Nyaan is probably the most developed of the three, as her desire for a new place to belong actually gets her on a way to take greater role in the story, but the entire thing is cut short with no real resolution once she's reduced to just a love triangle with Machu and Shuji.

Something really damning about this show is that, despite the constant key jiggling of references to the original Gundam and Zeta (constantly bringing characters and even music from those even if it plays no role on the plot, like the Titans), it really doesn't seem to understand the characters it is using from those old shows.

Why would Char want to do CCA like Challia says? He never lived the events of Zeta, he has no reason to have his faith in humanity broken over his dreams of a giving the next generation to Kamille and the AEUG being shattered, him wanting to do this without that context is completely opposite to his portrayal in the actual CCA movie. Why does Sayla want to lead Zeon? She hates her family heritage, always siding with the Federation at every turn, her suddenly deciding to take it is complete character assassination. And the series just keeps having all these little holes, like why does the Murasame Lab exist if Flannagan research wasn't folded into the Federation, why does Bask have a Psyco Gundam when the Federation lost the Gundam and never even made GMs, why does Haro exist in multiple numbers without Amuro making it popular after the war - this show is more focused on referencing old shows than actually following its premise of exploring a different UC.

Unicorn did irreparable damage to the depiction of Newtypes, completely destroying their lore to make them weird reality warpers, and GQuuuuuuX follows Unicorn's lead by having Newtype powers (or Kira Kira as they bizarrely want to call them here) literally remake universes, which is such a disgusting and gross misappropriation of what Newtypes were always supposed to be in Tomino's work, even Gundam X could get this shit right but not an actual UC work. Ignore anything allegorical about their role in the search for human understanding, a Newtype realm is completely real, they can make black holes and travel to other timelines, because these hack writers are just going to use them as plot devices to make anything they want possible, including facilitating a MCU level member berries multiverse plot like this one.

It’s probably why I think she has a shot of being brought back if there is a sequel (there won’t). Of course, I don’t think Eno/Anno/Tsuru like her enough for that. So after reading many people's analysis, there are two that I am left with being convinced. And it's a case of either or; impossible for both to be true.

Evident by the Cosmic Glow flashback re-animation recreating everything except Amuro's face/cockpit shots; This is how Shuji is the pilot of the RX782 "naturally". This also explained how he also travels wherever RoseLalah goes, as he was in the proximity of that first berserk Zeknova, and that Char died. This also explains why Machu says that Shuji may have had feelings for RoseLalah, which makes sense if he is the Amuro of that timeline. The conclusion in this one after the finale means they both go back, fate unknown, as RoseLalah accepts the fact that no newtype needs protecting from one another, and probably won't somehow travel back before the blast.
>2: 1 is false, and RoseLalah timeline IS MSG OYW timeline. Shuji is an unknown entity fairy. After the finale, RoseLalah upon the new realization with the newtype protection thing, goes back to the timeline and in time pushes Char out of the way as per the original Cosmic Glow episode, and her hesitations in the original episode are retconned as her coming to the new post-multi-worldline understanding, and ultimately sacrifices herself, knowing that even if she dies in this MSG timeline, the GQ timeline continues to exist somewhere where her GQLalah can find happiness with GQChar.
A point I am not sure on this is Endymion Amuro's line, suggesting he also have been to multiple timelines and have seen Lalah's death at the hands of gundam too many times. This suggests he (as amuro) is from a MSG timeline, possibly even as a post-CCA Amuro despite his ghost having sleeves suggesting he is from earlier years psychoframe piece travelling the timelines.

Have I been missing anything obvious, and which is more likely, aside from the blatant homages and "love letter" sentiment. Please help me out I am a retard.
