Jack "beat" Pickle in that Pickle gave up the fight and didn't even show everything he did against Baki. Jack also employed a strategy against him we're not seeing here.
There's no way Hanayama beats Pickle in a fist fight, but we've seen him take Pickle's charge head on as a greeting. Pickle respected that shit. Hanayama is a man's man who gets to hang because his aesthetic sense is pristine and hard to find fault in. He lives his way and someday he'll die his way.
