Hunter x hunter is my fav anime but if I had to point out a flaw it would be killua’s sister’s asspull powers and the gay characters is woke. Unironically I would enjoy it more if gon and killua and leorio and kurapika were canonically straight. Not saying they aren’t but at times they all act pretty zesty.

That's because of two reasons:
a) The 2011 anime was aired in a Sunday morning time slot, so they purposely made everything more childish and generic;
b) Hunter x Hunter is so influential and it's been copied so much that in retrospect it feels generic. That is known as the "Seinfeld is Unfunny" effect.
If you read the manga, or watch the 1999 no filler edit, you'll see they are a lot less generic than the 2011 version.

That it´s unfinished and had to have a second adaptation that totally ruined the pacing and atmosphere that made 99 great. Don´t get me wrong, Togashi´s manga is decently good enough as it is but Furuhashi is like Oshii. His cinematography, vision and artistic sense elevate stuff from decent to greatness. His take on both HxH and Rurouni Kenshin surpasses the source material he had to work with.

As for Togashi´s manga itself i´d say it´s strength is the same as it´s weakness. He develops even minor characters way too much. True enough it makes his world feel more alive but it can also feel like an unfocused mess at times when the hierarchy between what´s truly important and what it´s not gets blurred that much, specially with hiatuses that take years. He literally comes back every 3 years, write like 10 or 20 chapters that don´t advance the story or focus on the main characters at all and then fucks off for another half a decade. If this continues we will just have a second Miura.

It's a little too transparent that the Succession War is based on Togashi's interactions with high society.

There's other flaws, but they're either nitpicks or retards misunderstanding the material.
But knowing that every year that goes by exponentially decreases the chance of any given plot point being resolved does genuinely detract from my enjoyment.
