Frieren being an elf just doesn't make sense in the same way. There was no reason for her to be an elf. How are we supposed to relate to something that lives for so long? It ruins the whole plot. It just makes her seem like a dumb retard with no concept of time.

Author clearly didn't know what to do with the amazing waifu so after a bunch of meandering slice of life, decided to copy KnY and went demon-slaying all of a sudden but it's extremely difficult to give a shit about anyone and anything in this show
