In another part of Souboutei, Deido has an epiphany due to Kurenai's words, and reveals that should he die, the gates holding back the invaders would be opened with no hope of ever closing, dooming the entire planet, what's more, he effortlessly vaporizes an entire SDF division, tanks and all, showing he's not only dangerously autistic but a legitimate menace should things get violent with him around.
But we cannot lose hope now, now more than ever we must believe in ourselves so that our dream comes true, that's right, our one and only dream:

The sisters were about to receive the pupils again anyways with the death of Kikuyo's body, giving the pupils back would have been a difference of seconds.
As you said, we have not really seen enough of the possessed to say with certainty one way of another.

I would have to go back to check but when the Lieutenant first encountered his old squad, they wanted to him to 1v1 the strongest among them.
