I thought the first eight or so episodes were pretty good. Him just meeting and talking with his sisters (not really his sisters, but I forgot what they were called) meshes really well with Shinbou's direction.
I didn't care too much for the stuff after that, though.

The remake has none of the original characters except for Komugi and the big tiddied cat villain. The big tiddied cat villain also wasn't part of thr Soultaker cast but she was the evil version of another blue haired girl who appears here in the webm >>280062446 and that girl also appeared in Soultaker.
Komugi chan also doesn't have her original VA there, instead the original VA voices Komugi-chan's mother. It's similar to the original voices of Ataru and Lum in the Urusei Yatsura anime.
The big tiddied cat girl also lost her villain status and instead is one of the magical girls heroes. She has a femdom doninatrix theme going on in her magical girl form. The villains instead are more generic villains in magical girls shows. They also introduced a blonde tomboy character who also becomes a magical girl. Most of the girls in her school have a yuri crush towards the blonde tomboy but she is in love with a boy.

At least they character design is cute. Maybe I'll keep it in mind if I'm ever looking to mindlessly watch something kinda silly again with a more modern aesthetic. A big draw for me with the original is that its art style is basically peak early 2000s anime aesthetic. The remake looks really bright and flat, like all modern fully digital anime now, which isn't necessarily a bad thing on its own I guess.
