>>280100302Normally it would be hard to tell, but the thing is we KNOW how the chinks shill things. Back when the novel for LotM got released, in the isekai threads there were chink shills prawling about ""subtly"" promoting the novel with ready-made official images, gushing about how amazing or ""kino"" this or that scene is.
That's how positive shilling works. You just drown out any negative comments by endlessly praising things. If you had been around on /a/ lately you might have seen the shilling for the cyber-punk spin-off, for that sucide-squad isekai spin-off, and obviously for gook leveling.
You can't find any of that here. Infact you might have noticed the complete lack of "regular" marketing beyond some posts on X. Even the "business partners" like Crunchyroll aren't promoting it in the slightest.
Negative shilling is a bit of a different beast though. Just calling something bad without engaging on the issue would just give the impression of being obsessed and having the work in question "live rent free in their minds" which for many is an indicator that it's actually good, similar to how people start liking things if some ""ecelebs"" start hating on it excessively.
So the anti-shilling here is an attempt to make it work. It seemed to work at first, but now it created the situation where people are "passionately arguing back and forth" about it, giving the impression that it's "worth giving a damn about". That's as expected. As they say, there is no such thing as "bad publicity".
