Man, this episode truly shows how dystopian this world really is. For perception completely reshapes how you are, and this isn't limited to just the heroes.
Imagine for a moment you are a fatass, being seen as such by your friends, family, etc... and for many years you keep that body type. Then you decide to lose weight. But now, whenever someone comments on it, if it isn't a clear visible loss, they may still see you exactly as before, and indeed, that perception will apply into reality. You'll then never lose the weight. You'll remain a fatass. Just because that's the idea associated to the value points you've gotten so far.

I don't think it's that invasive about it, to be honest.
Regarding intelligence, we know it can affect it, but to an unknown degree. For instance, does it only go from what intelligence you had prior to a genius level, or can it impair you to the point of literal mental retardation?
Meanwhile, I don't think your personality changes beyond whatever generic, non-supernatutal feeling you may get when you gain an audience. As an example, Moon and Nice's relationship never went anywhere despite the rest of the world believing otherwise.

Don't get me wrong, it's still a pretty dystopian outlook, and body image issues can always arise from such a system. But, I don't think it has any supernatural effects on your personality.

I think the way trust affects intelect will be explored in the dog arc. Shame it's near the end and a single episode.

Genuinely wonder what happened for the show to have dropped the ball so hard for lucky cyan and queen.
Lucky cyan's last ep was pretty rushed, but I at least understand her singing is a big part of her. So, it getting more development than the "fear" discovery while its topic is in its infancy in the timeline is understandable. Meanwhile, queen's is unjustifiable.
It's not like the fight with Bowa needed to be so long. Plus, its stakes made it seem unimportant in the grand scheme of things. Think about it, we already knew that queen didn't get ever her x title, so she lost the tournament, and she's still in the top 10, while Bowa isn't, so we know who won the fight in the cargo container area. Meanwhile, we didn't know which E-soul won until the end of the fight, we never knew anything about the commoner, and luo's fate was mysterious to us. Yet, queen never gave us anything unique. "fear" was seen taking control yet again, but we didn't learn anything new about it, just a repeat of a hero getting corrupted then cured.

Fingers crossed loli would be a return to a good arc.

My theory is X became the number one hero because of finding a loophole around system via the tagline "anyone can be a hero, anyone can become x". So him already naming himself X means he cheats the trust value system by virtue of anyone looking up to heros and wishing to become one.

I tried to watch the 1st ep of To Be Hero. I couldn’t make it to 10 minutes. It was so unfunny, try-hard, spastic and cringey that I simply didn’t have the willpower to muscle through the opening premise.

Lin Ling is now true to himself and became the everyday voice known as the Commoner, Yang Cheng "avenged" Shang's death at the cost of his humanity, Cyan saved district 70 and proved that she can be a hero. What did Queen conclude on? The thing that we knew from the get-go, which is desperation for the X title? Again, we already knew that from the trailer. There isn't really a conclusion to be made for her.

I agree I would have prefered to know what happened to her to make her want that and how she's goint to do it but this is a 4 seasons show where she'll have opportunities to appear later, not a 2 episodes show. Sure, I can agree with that. But even then, it didn't stray or build up much development compared what other characters have shown from their trailers. And as a result, she feels a bit...empty, even if that's the point. It was a disaster, I agree wholeheartedly. Doesn't help that I don't like musicals in any way. However, I will agree to disagree on which arc was worse, which is fine. Personally, Queen was a bigger shitshow because it felt like it didn't accomplish much on what it set out to do. Bowa being the villain and taking up so much of the runtime also genuinely dragged down my enjoyment of the arc.

I think that when you're losing your powers, you become a person who is about as powerful or as lucky as the average person, or rather, the person you have physically trained/meant to be. The superhero powers are a boost, but you have your own base stats that are unrelated to the hero system.

So Cyan's hard work in singing earned her an dedicated audience, hero stats be damned. It wasn't supernatural "luck" (at least directly) that got her to DOS, it was either DOS looking into her past and finding the plane crash incident, and/or them knowing her connection to the orphanage, who is owned by a previous high-ranking superhero.

Maybe one could argue their searching skills and ability to narrow down where she was took some luck, but that still took a whole year, so it's tough to argue there's a supernatural capability of her getting found by the right people. She still worked her ass off to be a beloved idol, but the steps to get her to such a large company for this opportunity is a whole different matter, irrespective of her superhero "luck" powers.

Just to reiterate, she never trained her "luck". So when she lost her trust value, getting something as miniscule of a chance as winning the lottery is impossible for most people, as was for her.

In the part where she got shot, apparently the original line had more of an implication of "I'd do ANYTHING to climb" as in she organized the hit so she could get shot and use that as part of her growth, with it then showing the bullet scar to emphasize it.
