The pace is rather slower compared to the first earlier chapter where Julian went up against the forest guardian, ever since Arkos appeared every fight has been extended to last 10+ chapters or more, that's a given since human characters naturally gets more dialogue and screentime compared to animals, the pacing right now reminds me of Versus but unlike that manga Centuria is a blessing in comparison when it comes to scheduled releases, so I'm no longer complaining like a fag in that regard.

If you look at the page there is a big explosion on the ground that wouldn't make sense if the beam is just being fired into the air without at least some of the force being deflected. I think what's happening is that Lukas is deflecting the beam on the ground while at the same time getting thrown up into the air.
