Think about that, both Momonosuke and Yamato, who were left behind, witnessed his most powerful form before his crew--the same crew that don't even discuss the need for haki. Putting aside the powerlevel complaints, it's almost a forgone conclusion that Oda is going to bullshit upgrades for all of the Straw Hats, akin to Nami with Zeus, instead of following the proper logic of having them learn haki. I prefer everything above any "Luffy is a clone of someone" explanation. The introduction of clones since New World introduced lot of awful theories like Luffy being a clone of Joyboy, Roger, Garp or even Rocks.

I think Luffy is related to Garp genetically because they still look alike (Luffy look like him at 60 years old in SBS) and Garp was introduced as his grandfather in one of the Romance Dawn prototype.

But I accept we can question Dragon's paternity because they honestly don't look very similar, Luffy look more like Shanks, but I guess it was an early design thing and Sanji and his dad look different too. But there is still a very huge distance between them.
