The poorfag artist stereotype has been going on strong for hundreds of years for a reason.
It's only relatively recently that you can truly make it big with those things all on your own thanks to the internet, and even so, survivorship bias goes on very strong in that type of stuff. Like, for example, how for every indie game that does well there's thousands who get forgotten and bomb completely. Same goes for many artists who can't get commissions for shit even when they're technically good artists.
Now add to that how the older generations have no idea of how any of these things in the internet work... And double add to that preconceived notions about how things like those are not "real jobs", which is not helped by things like, imagine if you're an artist making gorillions drawing the most sick furry porn, that even the artist feels ashamed for drawing so they keep it a secret from others and family, so even if the money is coming in the stigma remains ever strong.

The real answer is that Umiri is hotter than Tomori, and the banter between Umiri and Taki is always fun to watch, even despite Umiri's catastrophic aura loss.

I also think that at least in MyGO, Umiri had the advantage of being Taki's only ship that was both cordial and didn't need Taki to literally baby them. It was fun and showed them as equals. (And then Ave Mujica happened.) But I'm under no delusion that the ship is a thing for anything more than attractiveness and banter.
