You have the first season introducing a lot of characters, the majority of which get completely sidelined during that entire arc. But then Season 3 comes along and all of the characters from Season 1 get more development and screentime.
It just seems rather oddly placed in the timeline. I was worried about needing to rewatch it because I had forgotten parts of it when Season 3 was about to air, but a lot of the lore/information in it just weren't relevant for Season 3 at all.
