Tokusatsu is very big in Malaysia. I heard that's why they revived the Ultraman franchise after a long hiatus or so they told me; because we bought many of the franchise commercial interests. That's why the first Ultra after it is called Tiga which means 3 in Malay. So many Ultra series are dubbed in Malay. You can find hookah places and hashish over there, but their consumption is disavowed by the majority of older, religious Arab guys. From my interactions with my straight edge Arab Dad's boomer friends, their only vices seem to be tobacco and maybe pornography, if anything.
