I would say it's part of the new fantasy/dark fantasy wave (Bugle Call, Re:Cervin, etc).
Character interactions were a strong point, and one of the supporting characters is a chubby slave whore. Fights were okay, pretty imaginative with the powers.

If the world uses a game system then it’s 100% native isekai, not fantasy. If it DOESN’T use a game system but has a lot of resemblance to JRPGs (ie, yuusha party, maou, dungeons with mimics etc) than it MIGHT be native isekai depending on how much of it there is.

Take Frieren as a good example. Although it had a few JRPG elements it wasn’t enough to call it a native isekai for me — until a fucking minimap of a dungeon came out, then I was forced to reclassify it as native isekai. A native isekai is an isekai except without the other world transfer. Isekai as a genre is defined by a collection of common tropes, NOT just the one trope of the other world transfer; if there was a transfer to a world but no other isekai tropes than it’s NOT an isekai. Western fans with very little understanding the genre constantly and loudly make this basic error.

If a show feels like a generic modern isekai, appeals to the same audience, uses the same tropes, and is indistinguishable from an actual isekai if you left out the 30 second reincarnation backstory that is never relevant then it's part of the same genre.
And despite isekai not originally being a genre but rather just a descriptive plot element the word is now used to describe a genre. Oh wow I'm glad I chose to give it a try for lack of options, even with the double episode bullshit.

At first I wasn't too sure about the grainy and blurry bits, but I actually quite like it! I think the entire aesthetic is reminiscent of the original Berserk anime or pre 2000s aesthetics. The only thing that takes me out a little is the characters themselves looking a little modern. If you try to go for the aesthetic (backgrounds, filters etc.) I feel like the characters should match it too. It's not too bad tho. Seems interesting so far, will continue to watch.
