Almost all of the changes are minor nitpickings that don't affect the meaning of the translation at all, and there are a few minor places where the MTBB script is less literal than then official subs (and therefore less accurate, although not necessarily in a way that impairs the meaning of the dialogue).

Just so you know, MTBB is praised for his encoding not for translation. He is not a translator he tend to pick the most popular subs available for his releases and fix some minor issues while encoding but people are using MTBB releases for the quality of the video nothing else

This line for instance (red is official subs, green is edits) is indicative. Tsukihi says "kabe" which literally means "wall", but MTBB's translator decides to soften it to passing "between dimensions" because he arbitrarily thinks it sounds better which it doesn't. It doesn't harm the meaning of the line but it also does not directly translate the words that the character has said.

I dont expect a new season solely because the name card shows doll and snake's symbols whose arcs are already done (unless they really love those two and moved forward their next arcs)

That's definitely not something I want to hear that a translator is doing because it makes me suspicious of everything else. I think the issue with subtitling specifically is that the original dialogue is always present, so you have to respect that more than if you were translating blocks of text.

That's one of the most tame examples too. Mtbb has a habit of localizing jokes to the point where they don't really make sense in context, or just completely dropping them if he can't think of anything to replace them with. A recent example is the "Araragi-hentai" joke in Mustard.

I don't know what else it'd be. If it wasn't something new, I suppose they may announce a rerun for Japanese tv. But I both doubt they'd make such a big deal and that the Japanese would even do something like that because anime reruns aren't that common. Nadeko and Yotsugi are fairly common in Off and Monster Season. Shaft may be trying to turn them into the protagonists for this part. They also could have an announcement where the name tag turns into a different themed name tag to hype for the next cour.

I don't think it will negatively affect quality. Most rushing only does this because of cheap outsourcing, but this other studio is skilled and native. I'm pretty sure Ninkoro was made by the second studio completely, and it was super high quality and felt very Shaftlike. Virgin Punk looks nice quality and I even heard it has nudity (including nipples surprisingly enough). Lastly, that new Madoka movie will probably be nice and artistic. The future of Shaft looks really bright. If anything, there work might get even higher quality.

Shaft has been on a gigantic decline since zoku ended. Assault lily, magia record and rwby were absolute dogshit.

I do feel pity for catfags, especially because hanekawa is hot as fuck in Kizu and she is one of the better written character in the story.
However she takes so much space since the beginning it's fair she fucks off a little to let other characters shine, prominent in Bake, overly important in kizu, appears in nise, dedicated arc with kuro, climatic 3rd arc starting 2nd season, present in Koi, secondary for sodachi arcs, briefly there in zoku in black form.
The only arcs she isnt in, kabuki, hana, oni, otori, mail, all of owari s2 are arcs where barely anyone but the concerned girls + shinobu are present. Kabuki, oni and mail take place during shiro anyway and hana is a fucking epilogue, the only relevant arc she could have been more present is ougi dark.
Catfags got their time, the fact she is in Kizu alone is enough for them to never have the right to complain, same for batfags.

I'm not sure the perspective is really off. You could nitpick the technicalities of some proportions. But it works and looks cohesive which is all that matters (look at some classic realistic paintings for that matter, quite a few have proportions that are nonsensical if you think too hard). I mostly have a personal issue with off model and the style not being for me. I pretty much prefer younger characters anyways like lolis. I can go for older characters (especially tomboys because they look young and spunky to me), but still have a preference towards youth. Since her official art is by Watanabe Akio, she looks pretty young in most official art. This basically gives me my center of reference that I compare fan art to since I prefer the elements of the official style in this case. The painting quality is pretty good and the anatomical detail is mostly on point. It mostly is just that I don't prefer the elements.

I haven't read the novels yet, but something tells me Off Season is better than Monster Season overall. Maybe Nisio is getting a bit tired the further he goes.

I think it is mostly that he likes detective novels. He wanted to make Monster Season about Araragi acting as a detective. It wasn't really what most fans wanted in the series though. But he continued as he had already gone far enough and just wanted to finish it up. It is worth noting that some of it came out simultaneously to cool moments in the anime, so people may have been more content while they still had the anime before it went into break. I heard that supposedly the Japanese fans didn't really like it either and demanded he go back to what he once did. The new thing seems well received by them and he and Shaft are nostalgia bating hard now so I assume it worked. I also have faith that Shaft will do Monster Season well, they can always add something nice artistically. Even if they didn't, they are spacing out Off Season to go alongside it anyway. The reason for that makes a lot more sense after reading NISIO's notes on Off Season. Basically, he had no fucking clue where to take the series after Owari, so he used Off Season to basically test out different characters as the next protagonist after Araragi. That's why like half of them end with a hook for future stories that never gets followed up on.

Ultimately, Nadeko was the one he found most interesting from that experiment, but he still decided none of them really have the star power to carry the series and went back to Araragi.

My problem wasn't really with Araragi being there (Mustard is the only one I watched). It's the fact that it didn't do anything for his character (or any other character). Nothing learned, no internal struggle outside of riddles. Maybe it's better as a whole and things were there to set something up. Kinda doubtful at this point. This is true but it doesn't mean we have to bear him being the protagonist of every single fucking arcs.
Fact the matter is, the overly agreed on best arc in the entire story is the one where Kaiki is the protag and araragi is nowhere to be found, Kaiki utterly heromogged him to no avail.
There's barely any anime/manga/LN franchise with as many interesting characters as monogatari does, having yotsugi be the protagonist for a few arcs is the right choice.
I'd like to see several occult club arcs as well.

Monster Season as a whole is a sort of redemption arc for Araragi. Every book is an obvious parallel to something he regrets from high school, giving him a chance to reflect on the mistake and reflect on how his experiences have ensured he's no longer the kind of person who would make those mistakes.

Shinobu Mustard is about Araragi's "other people will lower my humanity" attitude. In the novel, he has a long reflection in the climax about how he sees himself in the vampire girl. But he's also mature enough to understand that he was only able to fix the problem because he actually socializes now (I think the anime left it out, but he's been actively TRYING to make friends in college, but Meniko is his only success so far). It ultimately results in Araragi forgiving himself for being a stupid child.

I really have no idea why the anime felt the story's through-line wasn't important. A bunch of other smaller stuff that adds to it also got lost in adaption, like Araragi starting to see Gaen as a person rather than something that just pops up to cause/solve problems.

That's a shame, I hope he gets back to Nadeko soon. Owari and Zoku Owari felt like a good, definitive end for Araragi's time as the protaganist and while I don't mind him having a story or two to see how his university/family life is, I'd rather the main spotlight be over someone else now.

While this sounds nice and all it still feels like it repeats what Owari was supposed to be, Araragi coming to terms with his adolescence, viewing it as something good instead of throwing it away after growing up. There are few things more infuriating that characters learning one thing only to be treated as void later. The most interesting stuff you mentioned was him struggling to make friends in college even when he tries. A focus on that would be way more interesting in my opinion.
But yeah the anime didn't help sell the arc, especially if it's a weak arc on Nisio's side as well.
