Every character design change they did for this series was questionable and showed a misunderstanding about the series. His village is home to a bunch of legendary warriors and their kids basically speed ran the apocalypse and wiped the demons out in under a year but died in the process. Getting a do over just means these overpowered brats can attack the demons first.

I nrever bothered to read the web novel and just followed the manga can anyone confirm if it eventually got revealed that the demon lord was using the crystal to time loop his attempts at taking over the world and this series is just the loop being broken by the MC grabbing the crystal instead. It's what I thought the twist was gonna be the manga never got that far.

The magic felt very dangerous. This was kinda sweet.

The ending was such a massive let down especially after all the build up. For anyone who want to know, the biggest plot point of the story is the identity of the demon king in the old timeline. It established that no one know who the demon king was, not even the demons. The guy just showed up one day, defeat the previous demon king and claim the throne. The strangest thing is that the demon king was hornless (demons' horns are a status symbol for them so a hornless become their king is strange). IDK if it is the same in the novel or not but in the manga, the backstory of the DK literally got reveal after the final battle and it basically Cell in DBZ, down to wanting to archives his perfect form by time travel to the past and merge with his something that only exist in the past. It was a massive letdown because the story built up the DK as someone who the demons race fanatically follow like a cult and he turned out to be just a strong guy.

Even the plot of the MC is kinda weak since he is so vanilla. Really the saving grace of the manga is the Seran's plots, how he is the bastard son of the king, how he has his own harem and romantic relationship with the current demon king.

NTA but yes, the story actually dropped a lot of good hints about the DK idenity like he wants to travel back in time (indicating he wants to change the past), he is hornless (so he isn't a demon) and have white wings (could be an angels). But really the problem was that the story wait until the last moment to reveal anything about the DK and he got defeated right away. Imagine if Cell show up, got defeated before he reach his perfect form and then the story explain who he was.
