why is Madoka Magica so good?
i watched only the serie and i loved it but ion know the reasons, can someone tell me your opinion?

i didnt really understand it. i liked that its slightly morbid, extremely sober for a CGDCT anime, has very catchy art. and Sayaka of course .
i really expected more yuri tho.

It's good because Sayaka is a great character that carries the entire tragedy, weight and pathos of the story while Madoka and Homura just kinda do the finishing sprint at the end. So it's more like episodes 1-9 are amazing.

Because the core themes are borrowed from existentialist philosophy. The story is not just about fighting monsters, but about the very purpose of one's existence.

Sayaka and Kyoko's conflict in particular is related to existentialism's base observation: one cannot live like an angel, content with just bringing happiness of others, nor can one live like an animal, caring only about one's own self. Sayaka and Kyoko seem to have opposing ideals, but they approach the same dillema from different sides. Their deaths repudiate their own ideals; Kyoko sacrifices herself for others, while Sayaka's denial of her own desires leads directly to her death.

i feel like its some much topics that can make an anime a masterpiece but theyre too many for a little 12 ep anime

The TV series did not overstay its welcome and reached a good but bittersweet end that was easy enough to understand (Madoka's wishing power got super strong because of the loops so she used her wish to rewrite reality and save every magical girl from becoming a witch).

I like the media that comes after it well enough but I think if it had stayed a 1 season show it would have been better.
