Nah, the early leaks were that the studio and CF focused on ep1-3 with Tencent involvement, but people assumed they wanted the sakuga.
Turns out the heavy involvement was because they had to rewrite the ~70ch worth of story into 3 (or rather 4~normal) episodes.

Klein is nowhere near the strongest character in the setting. His Path is pretty much entirely antithetical to that - the dude is constantly on the backfoot and only survives against peer opponents via sheer luck and good networking.

So I gave the LN a whirl. The start was lovecraftian kino but it devolved into your standard chink circlejerking over powerlevels and bottleneck breakthroughs. It didn't help that 80% of the atmosphere was just gone when it started focusing too hard on Klein wankery. Are there better horror kino I can read?
