Director Commentary for Episode 5 (Mitsugo Biyori ~2-ransei~):

I'm quite fond of the clerk in the underwear department (Which is why she appears in episode 8 as well)

The cut where Futaba slowly rises from the underwear was inspired from the launch scene of my favorite show, Space Battleship Yamato (https://youtu.be/G_p1-Qm-3SA?feature=shared&t=270). To accommodate, a jet engine sound was requested to be added.

In the pool episode, Hitoha utters "Damn pig!" for the first time but, for some stations,
this phrase was censored. What a shame.

The Parent Day section is very much a favorite of mine. In the manga, Soujiro screams and runs out the classroom, but,
there was an opportunity take it further. Because of this, I wanted to make best use of the CG-made hallways with him storming through
the halls, breaking through glass and diving onto the police where he's finally taken away.

The running scene was also a homage to Episode 74 of Urusei Yatsura "Ghost Story! Old Man Willow!!" and right before Soujirou bursts through window, he strikes the classic Rumiko pose. Since animating on CG was such a problem for the animators,
I took the responsibility of drafting the key frames

Combined with Misawa-san's work on the police theme, this created a ridiculous scene.

Director Commentary Episode 6 (Mitsugo Biyori ~2-ransei~):

* For the nightly sports meet, I decided not to include music to put more emphasis on Futaba and Soujiro's exchange. After airing, I got a rush of messages from friends who all complained "Please stop arresting Soujiro!" ...About that...

* During the mock cavalry battle, Hitoha's fear of heights was exaggerated quite a bit. This is because I too have a fear of heights and can resonate with her pain. (Which is also why the Ferris wheel in Episode 13 is in outer space)

* Yabecchi's body filled with sutras: Matsuoka, please stop. You're making it a pain to animate...

* In this episode, Hitoha sees Yabecchi's crotch and gets embarrassed despite being unaffected when seeing it in Eps 1.

* In Episode 1, Yabecchi was only a stranger to her but, now, that status has been lost... Let's leave it at that.

* Sugisaki's candid Mitsuba shots: Sugisaki increasingly comes forward. As for Voice actor Saitou Chiwa (Sugisaki VA), she was the most excited out of everyone.

Director Commentary for Episode 7 (Mitsugo Biyori ~2-ransei~):

* At last, the Gachi Rangers make their appearance. Since the move Gachi Knuckle was never directly shown in the manga, we had to come up with a visualization. Despite being hero's of justice, we made them say questionable things like "You'd be better off dead!" to add onto Mitsudomoe's wildness.

* For Inuragon, his original name was Unicorn Doc but since it was too cool for his mascot-esque appearance, we settled on the latter.

* Despite Gachi Blue being his favorite, Yabecchi is seen wearing a Gachi Red backpack. This is, unfortunately, because the stores only sell the red ones!

* The Can't-be-Helped Squadron vs Futaba:
Up to this point, the three - dubbed as the "Can't-help-but-love Satou Squadron" - have restlessly admired Satou from behind but, now, they finally
make their full appearance. With the help of Animation Director Kawamoto-san's cute and comical work, the episode was brought to life.

* In the Satou chasing scene, the character that was originally Misoji (Kaieda) was replaced with an elderly janitor because it would've contradicted with what Misoji would eventually become in the manga.
Additionally, those seen in the chasing scene were the same students who went to give Satou chocolates in Chapter 175 (Volume 10.)

* When Hitoha is watching Gachirangers, we showed off Gesuragon in the preview.

Director Commentary for Episode 8 (Mitsugo Biyori ~2-ransei~):

* In the the PE storehouse: We gradually see how good of a girl Mitsuba can be.

*Futaba and Kazuya's Piggyback Adventure:
When the Storyboard came in, it was just under the amount needed for an episode... In addition to the lack of time, I almost gave up on including the portion. However,
Futaba's (incomplete) character song came up and I decided to use it and include a music scene to buy time. Eventually, when the lyrics came in, I was greeted with Pai, Pai, Papai which totally surprised me!!!! Well, it *is* Futaba, I guess its fine...

Director Commentary for Episode 9 (1/2) (Mitsugo Biyori ~2-ransei~):

* The showcase of Chiba's Secret Technique was a homage to Jackie Chan's training scene and unintentionally like Star of the Giants' Dai League Ball.

* When I deliberately made Hitoha face the camera while saying "Can't you do it?", everyone caught on.*

* Yabecchi's Room - Mitsuba Edition:
Was added as a means of making time since the storyboard was just short. One idea was to have Mitsuba earnestly "Mushakora" as it solved Takagaki-san's (Mitsuba VA) complaint being "The only one without a special sound!" Yabecchi's ending "Make it end!~" was a cry from my heart

* The backing "Ruru rururu" was initially planned to be done by Shimono-san (Yabecchi VA) but Sound Supervisor Ebina-san took
advantage of the situation and made a full-scale version with the triplets *and* Yabecchi... On the spot, Takagaki-san helped Shimono-san improvise the chorus. As expected, she is quite used to it

*Hitoha Santa:
When Hitoha was fleeing from Futaba, her fainting from the striked shin was ad-libbed by the key animators. Tomatsu-san's (Hitoha VA) performance was also great, came out to be a good scene.

Mitsuba's Boar Panties:
The cut where Mitsuba says, "With this, the Zodiac set is complete!" is said to be a reference to first generation Saint Seiya OP (According to Arai, Storyboard Director)

* Metal Barrel Bath:
As a challenge, I chose to include this segment but it turned out to be the hardest to storyboard. The dialogue-less silence accordingly followed the manga with Mozart's Sonata 15 included as background music. Matching the storyboard to the rhythm was a pain in itself but, even if the melody was a little strange at times, I had to make it work. As for Mitsuba's scream being the only audible portion? Tom and Jerry (The Dubbed Version) served as an inspiration (really just Tom's standard scream) At times, I hope you found this sort of thing interesting

Bit late but, again, thank you everyone for joining. Glad I was able to get the videos to work. Admittedly, remuxing and burning subs over and over (Most learning how to properly do so) burnt me out and I barely tuned in for today's episodes.
