I wonder what is going on there.
I suppose these are mini-mouths and mini-eyes for Remina to "passively" eat small meteors and the like while the main mouth eats planets, and the "toxic gases" are just Remina's secreting all the gases from said meteors and the like.
But still, why the tree-like structures?
Are all the eyes a single consciousness?
Anyway, since the very surface is sentient and toxic they have no chance of survival.

I was thinking more sci-fi though. Like I'm pretty sure the Imperium in 40k could do it, but it would take quite a few cyclonic torpedos and other Exterminatus weapons. I'm not sure the UNSC or the Covenant would have the capability of killing it. Maybe the Forerunners since they were retconned into being straight up wacky strong.

Like, camouflage our planet so that threats like Remina can't find us, would have to first identify how things like that find solar systems in the first place. Or try to find something Remina doesn't like or can't eat and use it to repel it. Gunbuster has Anti-Matter missiles, I guess that and Black Holes are the only thing the story didn't address directly. Gunbusters "Space Monsters" look like something out of Remina anyway.

Not shown in that clip, in the final episode they have a bomb that blows up the entire galactic core (leaving it with an even bigger black hole) in order to eliminate the birthplace of the space monsters.

This. There are thousands of moons, dwarf planets, centaurs, asteroids, etc. in the solar system alone. Any one of them could be inhabited by a self-sufficient colony. (Which would be necessary if they're real far out) Remina's approach into the system would completely fuck up the orbits of everything so the chance of something ending up passing by their shelter is at least nonzero in the next year.

Remina the monster, a huge, monstrous planet that flies at the lightspeed and is beyond human understanding? Perfect.

If I were to change something it would be to see what happens on the surface of Remina, what were those monsters that we saw the silhouette of.
>Any lingering thoughts?
What will Remina do now? Will she stay in this universe and eat planets until the end of time? Or will she travel to an alternate universe and devour another Earth? Also, Remina shares the same mole in the same location as Tomie. Interesting.

it is futuristic bunker
I expect it to contain at least ability to generate oxygen, in case of Nuclear Fallout where environment is unhabitable

Definitely a hopeful ending. I choose to believe that that miracle happens for them. I loved the art and imagery. Daisuke was the best character. He was so cool. I really liked this one. Thanks so much for posting.

It's still a fucked ending but these guys at least get the choice to end themselves on their own turns. That's a luxury in the Ito-verse not offered to a lot of people. Any people really.

Them surviving more than the year hadn't crossed my mind during my first read, but I hadn't been taking into account this takes place in the future. Like the other anons said, there's a possibility moon/mars people also made it out (with some of the colonization technology) and they all get together and make it to a new planet/moon.

Remina's probably my favorite of Ito's full volume stories. It's more action thriller than horror and the sheer scale makes it fun. I like how the mob in the sky >>280245582 now includes people from all over the world shouting in their own languages

Yes

This one

Remina playing more with the planet

Loved the hobo, hated the idolfags

Loved it. It's like John Carpenter horror movie in a manga form with the ending.
Hobo is the obvious #1, second place is the non-Goda original cult leader, the costume is cool and his autism is endearing for someone so evil.
I would like to know more about Remina's ecology.

No, that would be logical. It even seems that Remina purposely allowed Remina to survive so that it could eat the planet. This implies even more strongly that this is the case.
