I'd say it was a bunch of little things on top of the release scheduling getting fucked.

There was a group cosplay arc where all the character were dressed up as nuns, making them look samey and harder to distinguish if you're not paying attention.
The arc introduced two new characters and brought the sisters back. In the arc Gojo didn't make a costume, but was learning about making props.

We finally have Marin deciding it's time to confess... except this goes nowhere and the next arc also pushes it away.
Instead we get two non-issues that are conflicts for the arc: Juju wanting to quit cosplaying(this gets resolved the chapter after it's introduced) and one of the new girls not getting along with Marin.
The second thing had people coming up with crazy theories, but of course it turned out to be that she is Marin's super fan.
Also after the arc we go straight up to the next costume, so the romance part of the story was pretty much non-existent
