Is this even popular? Not hating here, I sort like it because it keeps me on my toes, but it meanders alot and seems to subvert things for the sake of subverting things without using it to make the story interesting unlike something like Tengoku Daimakyou. I'm 85% confident he'll be back sooner or later, but the more the tournament went on, the more certain I was that he'd be the one to die instead of Frey. So I'm going to enjoy Frey as the MC while it lasts.

I wouldn't mind God bringing him back evil, though. Maybe he'd even outlive God and become the final boss, since the first "big" villain in a Mashima story is hardly ever the last one fought. It would be a nice reflection of EZ where the final boss was the heroine from the future.
