>>280358449>Jesus was a human, that's the entire point. The martyrs after him were also. And? You can add another characters from history or events they still are exceptions if you need to look into the past or events to find more exceptions.
A better comparison would be telling me what is the equivalent western for word for "karoshi", not like the western don't have bad jobs but japanese needed to take measures to reduce it, that is, it was a real problem in modern japan due to the consequences in a significant portion of their population.
>"I understand self-sacrifice as long as others do it",Where is the SELF-sacrifice in that?
I don't want to idealize asians, they can be selfish too. I'm just telling you that they seem to care more about collectivism from a western perspective. China could be another example. Here in the western side it seems we always need to respect individuals and try to force minority ideals into the majority.
>Christianism is strongly related self-sacrificeNot entirely wrong but is not exclusive to religion. Self-sacrifice is always present in any set of good values for a better place for you and others. And if you want to take that route, then buddhism is a better example. Afaik The Bodhisattva is someone who really does self-sacrifice by even delaying their nirvana to help others, even after death if they keep doing the same if they are reborn. You could say buddhism goes a step further in self-sacrifice to help others and it predates christianity. And the figure of someone leaving all pleasures to make a better place for others due to selflessness is more fit for LOC Madoka for me.
