>>280232953She's 1000+ years old, probably older. You tend to mellow out after your first century. People dying of old age around constantly you also tend to make you mellow out further. Difficult to not take a philosophical point of view from that. The fire of youth and "YOU BASTARD! YOU'LL PAY FOR THIS!" only happens to 15 years old for a good reason, anon.
>Why would she tolerate the mage association selection stunts at all?Should she help the young mage pass the test and solve all their problems for them? Then she stunts their progress. She was, pointedly, not there to solve everyone problem. In fact she didn't really want to be there at all.
It was a test made to test the new generation of mage. Frieren went into it saying "ok but why should I tho", and did the exact minimum that could be expected of her. Which is quite something. She protected people in the tests, she did her job, made her team win, and actually seem to have fondness for quite a few participant: but again, she's 1000+ years old. She saw a lot of people die, a lot of people being crazy, a lot of people failing.
It's, ultimately, not her problem. While she has compassion and tries to help, she finds, ultimatly, all of that quaint and funny.
