This Bakura Town subplot was just padding.

Did Oda really have to introduce the toddler abducted to be saved by Luffy only for Luffy needing to save her as she's sick, and she gets kidnapped again? Knowing how infamously long this arc already is this is just feels like filler.

i've noticed that too. Past arcs often began with comfy worldbuilding and getting to know the tourist-side of the current island before we got to the more severe social problems lingering underneath. Now we're bleezing right through and immediately deal with everybody being poor, starving and poisoned because of Kaido
