Bad translation here. Noelle does say "now" in japanese, but it gets cut. The original intention is "I'm coming to save/help you (right now)", so a better dialogue would be "I'm coming-" or "I'll-..." before getting interrupted.

That's all, anons. Black Clover is one of my favorite current shonens, even if it's far from perfect it has a very rich and flexible power system, amazing teamwork, and great art. I noticed these daily threads near the end of the elf arc, and I wasn't really planning to take over, but the threads were pretty chill and fun so I caved in. In true BC fashion you could say I was inspired by previous OP, (originally I had something different here, wondering if you were still lurking and here you are, what an enter!) thank you for these threads and your personalized covers! And of course, thank (You) all for reading, sticking around, lurking, bumping for those who haven't read yet, and sharing your thoughts!
Our next batch with 3 chapters drops on August 12th, and hopefully we get around 60 pages like with the Nacht chapters. Keep in mind there could be a spoilers thread a day or two before the 12th, see you in a month. Now that we're caught up, it's time to throw around some theories, hopes, copes, worries, and expectations!
I have some questions for you all, but I'll do that in my following post.

I love this series to death but man I wish Tabata would take some larger risks sometimes. How about having Asta die for real and then have to fight his way back to life through the underworld? Preferably alone, leave Liebe in the land of the living. Have him really be tested, learn devil lore, learning Liebe's lore in depth, and eventually his own lore (since I'm all but certain he's related to devils in some way). Land of the Sun was kind of fun but in all honesty it wasn't what I was looking forward to and feels kind of convoluted to introduce, especially this late.

Rades. His magic is pretty cool using the dead to fight for him and with help, can make stronger ones pieced together like Frankenstein's monster. Its also amusing how petty he can get when things don't go his way and wanting to get revenge. Him bringing himself and his friends back from death too was cool too.

There are so many good ones, but I think the underwater temple fighting Mr. Despair was the best.

Jack's magic really won me over as time went on, seeing as he just focused on cutting and getting better and better at it as he could cut through anything given enough time. Its simple but efficient.

I don't think they'll extend the fight even more, so the betrayal angle is out of the gate IMO.
I think we're going with an unseen twist or HEROES WIN, probably some mixture of both since this is a very straight shounen.

Hard to say but of course I like Noelle and Asta a lot, they're given a lot of room and leeway to grow. Yuno never really did it for me but when he gets more fired up, I can still like him a bit. Outside of that main cast, Magna and Zora are total bros and I love the Cap.

The elf saga was the most comprehensively good. But for arc I think I enjoyed the initial Spade arc more than the individual parts of the former until the ending invasion.

Dark magic, it's cool as fuck but I also like how simple it is. You can do a lot with it if you're good and inventive, but it's also not broken. Dimension slash equinox probably.

I actually shat on it way back on /a/ when the anime rolled out because Asta's voice actor was annoying, but after giving it a shot out of boredom I got until the fight with Licht (Patri) and it clicked.

Most of my complaints with most shounen are honestly to do with either pacing or time allocation. For the latter part of the manga I think it goes too fast for its own good sometimes and needs to build more. Lucius is a good example, I think he'd be a more effective villain if we spent at least two chapters on just setting him up for example.
Yuno could be made a little more relatable, he might be powerful, but he's still Asta's peasant bro. I think giving him spotlight chapters to make us feel his (few, but tangible) struggles would make him much more popular.
Alas, I think it's an issue with the manga not having unlimited time to run.

Now that it is finished i got say that while i enjoyed reading with you guy i cant say that BC is a good manga if someone ask to recomend i would say to read One Piece, Naruto, Haikyuu, HxH and many others before starting this which i still think is a "must" read which is something i cant say about Fairy Tail, MHA or others for some goods of the series

Honestly I often find people who talk about shonen too caught up on the stuff they dislike, so even though there are things I don't like with my favorite shounen (in this case I guess Hokuto, BC and a few others) I never really go for the angle that an element in it is total shit that ruins the entire thing. It's like saying I didn't enjoy something I clearly enjoyed, in a sense.
BC has a lot of elements I would say are middling or not used effectively but it still has an interesting enough package to make it a fun read in my opinion and ultimately that fun is the end package, which is what any author should be aiming for IMO.

Yeah Asta gets plenty of powerups, the only real difference is that he either works hard for them or earns them by getting to know people, like befriending Liebe for example.

Fuck, that probably will happen. The Jump formula kills me sometimes. They have all these interesting worlds/concepts and do next to fuckall with it.

I seriously doubt Tabata will pull a Kaguya and replace Lucius as the main baddie so late in the story. I picture Julius waking up and rebel against him and perhaps Adrammelech betraying him, but not being replaced as the big bad. At this point he's the best option for a final boss.

Having so many mixed feelings about this. In one hand, those new forms are very cool, I dig the biblical angel appearance (Morgen in particular reminds me of Lille Barro's owl form in Bleach), but this also makes the previous fights completely pointless, and that's a great shame considering the emotional aspects of them was the best thing of these Paladin battles. I doubt he'll defeat Lucius, and given he's now alone against the ultimate wizard king or whatever he's called, I'm fearing for him. Black Clover doesn't usually kill characters, but in this arc Jack, Marx, Revchi and Gueldre are already dead, I can see Tabata killing another character to turn the situation even worse, and Yuno is looking like a good candidate for that... You drew that Liebe, OP? That is crazy. It looks so well done and cute! I always heard things about Black Clover, but was too lazy to start it on my own. However, discovering these threads gave me the impulse I needed and I honestly fell in love with the manga. It’s a simple shonen, but the action, world, characters and fights are very engaging and fun, even this last Lucius arc that I heard wasn’t very good by others is managing to be enjoyable. Honestly the most entertaining shonen I saw in a while, especially since I was never too much into the super duper popular ones like JJK. I kinda miss not getting on the BC train sooner. Had a lot of fun with these threads as a new fan, and while I’m gonna miss them I’ll be ready for the next chapters in august, hopefully they will be awesome. I think I’m gonna watch the anime too while waiting for next month's release.

Too many to list them all. Among the main characters Yami and Noelle are my absolute favs, Yami is charismatic and funny, the kind of character that always steals the show. Noelle is a great heroine with great development and an excellent character arc. One of the best shonen heroines imo.
Regarding the supporting cast, I would say my favs are Finral, Zora, Mars, Sisgoleon, Jack, Fuegoleon, Nozel and of course, Sekke.
Favorite villains would be Zenon and Megicula.

Anything related with surpassing your limits, it's like the signature line of the show. Fuego's line about that being weak not being bad, but remaining weak is it's also iconic.

Don't neglect the Diamond Kingdom that much. Mars deserved better, he needed his own arc with Morris as the main villain, instead of disappearing from the manga with no one caring about him.
I think a Megicula arc could have been good as well, while her fight was my favorite one I would have liked to see more of her and her influence in the human world.

About the future of the manga, I don't know. There may be some twist going on, and Adrammelech def looks like the kind of character who would betray his supposed boss (he betrayed Lucifero after all), but I think Lucius will still be the final enemy to beat because Asta becoming the Wizard King after defeating the previous one makes a lot of sense, and even this arc is named the ultimate wizard king too, so I think we'll be stuck with Lucius till the end. I just hope we get a satisfying conclusion.

I first had a terrible introduction to BC from a friend of mine who was watching Toonami, and got annoyed with Asta and his 'I win' button...but his opinion changed as the black bulls got introduced. My first episode to watch was Yami vs 'licht', and then the episode where Asta refused to give up when he found out his arms were permanently fucked. I went back and rewatched the series, being FULLY sold as it being one of my favourite Shonen during the Vetto fight, and I switched over to the manga during the elf arc.

I'm not a fan of the current arc, as I usually feel resurrections are a cheap way to earn drama(it's what made me stop liking naruto too)...but the art continues to be stellar, and I still like Yuno. I don't think Yuno's going to win the day, but I'm excited to see where things go.

I’m at the part where Asta’s in Yami’s homeland. I really hate the fact that Asta and Yuno didn’t get the same rank. I was already pissed that Yuno was promoted to vice captain while Asta was still a junior. I know the reason obviously, the whole scapegoat thing and then later the trial being delayed, but it feels like Tabata’s obsessed with keeping Asta an underdog and it just makes me hate Yuno, and William and the elves too for causing the whole thing and getting off free.
