This was peak anime for me. Cute girly girls being cute together while smoochin' with no dorama.

Damn I should rewatch Sakura Trick. None of the good yuri ever get a second season. Still mad there was never a second season for Adachi to Shimamura

I've likely seen it 5 or 6 times now, I rewatch it at least once a year and I first saw it like 10 years ago. Which means the real number might be higher than that.

It's a seriously beautiful anime and I wish more people realized it. Retards just watch it and go "hurrr coomer shit tiddies the girls are too happy fluffy jokes shallow" and that's not it at all. It's fucking heartfelt. The characters are well-written, the drama is human and not forced, the jokes are funny, the directing/scenes are actually stunning. The scene where Haruka kisses Yuu through the storage shed window while the others are in the pool is unironically one of my favorite scenes in anime ever. The manga chapter was good, but the anime ADDED to it and turned into something truly beautiful. Not to mention the kickass OP >>280278899.

You fucks better read the manga if you haven't because I've read it 3 or 4 times and it's excellent. The ending was really, really good and Haruka falling to her knees and crying and apologizing for not admitting to Yuu that she actually wants to be her lover and be with her forever and begging Yuu to be with her makes me tear up every time. Kaede and Yuzu's romance arc is also 100% kino and probably cuter than Haruka's and Yuu's story in a lot of ways.

Really one of my favorite anime of all time and also one of my favorite yuris.

Most yurifags these days can't seem to fully appreciate yuri that isn't trying to be a forced drama between two or more maladjusted girls or isn't trying to shamelessly appeal to coomers.

This show (and manga) gets a lot of hate but honestly I kinda agree, its obnoxious that people immediately turn their brain off when a work has a bit of fanservice and assume it can't be anything more

The manga gets hate? I've seen animeonly casuals hate on the anime but reception of the manga on this website is usually at least lukewarm, right? I haven't seen many people praise it like I do, but I feel like most people are alright with it.

I was until I caught up with the manga. I'm actually quite glad there's no second season and I hope to God there never is one. The anime is still excellent though.

>forced drama between two or more maladjusted girls
Symptom of degrading families/weak fathers. Most yuri fans seem to be girls and girls that don't understand what a healthy relationship is tend to fetishize toxic behavior as a coping mechanism that perhaps makes them feel like all the failing relationships around them have deeper meaning. The male equivalent of this is how harem anime are just becoming cuck fantasies like rental girlfriend and makeine. It's kinda sad, but the true frequency of actually great, upbeat/optimistic yuri probably hasn't really changed much over the years anyway.

Most popular yuri works in the vein of Sakura Trick still have even less drama than it did. I think you're confusing whats discussed with what's popular

It got a lot if flak back then for the (for some) unnecessary "I don't know what love is" drama.
Anonymous No.280289104 [Report] >>280289261
>>280288971
I see. I think it annoyed me at first, I don't really remember, but my interpretation was that Haruka always (sort of) knew what love is and her arc was really just that she was scared to admit it to herself and scared to grow up and accept that she can't be a teenager forever, which I thought was actually well written and relatable, but I get it if other people didn't really catch that. I also think that wasn't clear until the end, really.

Just like ITT some people complain about "unnecessary" drama in other yuri, the line where drama in a love story is "unnecessary" is highly subjective. I think thats more the issue than not getting it.
Especially more understandable in Sakura Tricks days where largely drama free yuri was by far the minority and it was still mostly a romance drama genre to begin with.
