Not necessarily. I’ve had a lot of time to think about how they’d sort out this ship, and I have several scenarios I’m looking out for. One of them is Brief turning into a willing and happy NTS cuck, that’s one way to keep Panty as she is, a very “love me for me” kind of relationship, but it’s still way too early to call that resolution. I took this moment more as “I’m not attracted to Panty for just her body, I like the person she is”. They could still go the degen powercouple route or the infinite stamina stud route. Defanging Panty is unlikely now, however.

This was a long time ago, but from what I recall, Panty might have been the least popular of the four during the original airing, the demon sisters were really popular and there were a lot of Stockingfags too. In our threads over time more and more Pantyfags came out of the woodwork. My guess is the brief storyline was training wheels to her appeal, and that over time it becomes more obvious that she’s the most unique character of the bunch in the landscape of anime.

I honestly expected it would be solved offscreen as a gag. They went with the manga adaptation instead.
