It took its time with the framing. Some youtubefaggot once framed it this way; Berserk is a picturesque manga even though it's action heavy, so a Berserk anime benefits a lot from limited animation and dwelling on color recreations of what you'd see in the manga. The stupid CLANG show missed the point.
The second thing is that the colors really pop. They made the right choices so that they stand out and are vibrant without it taking away from the dark mood. It can never be as good as Miura's art, but it compensates with color.

Hand drawn animation hits different from digital shit and especially 3d garbage, You cannot capture this energy with a modern studio at all, The soundtrack is also really good. It's a great pain this only had one season.

For me, the biggest pain was that they didn't show skull knight saving guts and Casca from the eclipse.

I hate how my friends praise the anime but straight up refuse to read the manga which is a thousand times better
you can even enhance the reading experience by listening to Susumu's work

I think it's a good entry in to the Manga but honestly once you get caught up with the Manga all the problems in the anime adaptation are all the more apparent
>No Silat who's now a major character
>No Bakiraka who are now a major faction
>No weird incest angle which is a big part of the Millennium Falcon arc
>No Skull Knight who is a major character
>No Puck
>Griffith is a king apparently?
>No Wyald who is the reason Guts doesn't have his sword in the Eclipse (massive plot points currently being explored)
There's other things that really age the anime but honestly the anime is a one and done that got worse as the Manga went on.

Given how well the dub sold and how far ahead the manga had got by that point, a second season covering Conviction should have been green lot imo

Aside from it being a slideshow, censoring everything takes away from the impact of the eclipse

those things don't matter at all and shouldn't be perceived as flaws considering it never got a sequel. The anime is standalone
If you're going to read the manga you're going to read it from the beginning regardless.
