This is a rare situation where I think a TL of it through official channels would actually somehow be faster (and therefore preferable) than the scanlators previously. Holy fucking shit they were slow. Maybe it was down to not getting raws? I checked on baka updates and their pace for a different manga was fine, it was Re:Cervin that was having a rough time of it.

The eyepatch guy recognized at least some people from the main cast when we saw him the first time, the hooded mystery nigga No.2 seemed to be quite unaware who they are. The man with the eyepatch might be Guillaume, but there are not many options for the mystery nigga, my best guess would be the unnamed soldier who served formerly in Angvall's unit during the western war, but if it really was him, he should probably at least recognize Titi, who was the sole survivor of the town that was massacred by the enemy forces. Anyone from the village would have known Julian and Titi instantly, so it's clearly nobody from there.

I don't recall there ever being any mention of them being specifically sent by someone to help, they could be there just by their own initiative for what we know right now. We can currently only speculate what their motives are and we don't even really know who they are going to help. According to Guillaume's character sheet, he doesn't really seem to be that fond of the Kingdom, and losing his eye because of Elstri's fanatical devotion and her immoral orders to kill a child might have made him want to enact some sort of payback against the prophetess.
