Of all the converted bad girl story arcs Lulu's is definitely one of the better ones. Maybe it's just nostalgia but Splash Star or Fresh would still be my favorite though.

Not a ton. I put Hugtto in this preliminarily.

Emotionless robot girls are my favorite in all of fiction so I was fated to like this, but the music and intensity of Hugtto overall (so far) really sold her. Her screaming out each way she tricked/betrayed everyone while cracking in regret is genuinely hardcore.

I'm honestly kind of surprised by the hate it gets, and that's coming from someone who really didn't like Rosemary, which should have biased me against the show. Not really sure what to say except that Yui is one of my favorite cures, I found the friendship between the main three to be great, most episodes were pretty fun for me, I thought it did a great job passing on a "love for food" to the audience in the way Yui's grandmother did for her, the Black Pep arc was great fun, etc. I'd also say it has the best "final villain" and final confrontation episodes I've seen too, but that ultimately goes to Wonderful Precure, because damn that shit popped off.

I don't really think it's solely due to yuri goggles. Kira's relatively low for me, and Hugtto's my 2nd favorite. That said, I have been having a shit ton of fun with Meroron and really love the other Cures too. I don't really mind Purirun simply slapping the snooze button on the timebomb that is Meroron for now, and the show dealing with her issues later. I really loved last episode even though it was more normal.

I feel like characters not "growing" is kind of a poor thing to focus on in terms of precure since a huge number of cures are the same from start to finish, with at most a rocky period or two where they quest their beliefs before re-affirming them. I'm not being critical, I think it's a virtue of the show that the characters have strong beliefs which they stick to. I think, when looking for reasons to criticize a precure season, if you start latching onto things like "the characters don't grow" or "there's not enough character development" (to the vein of 'there's too much filler and not enough plot") you're kind of revealing that you're just making stuff up.

Idol liked to reference previous episodes directly even in just the first cour, so it having a pretty plot heavy 2nd cour arc wasn't completely out of nowhere even if it was a bit of a shock. Fucking wut? The finale was dogshit in a conga line of contrived convenient developments sprinkled with info dumps. It begs us to care about Subaru and the wolves despite never showing them interacting outside of him being mildly polite to Zakuro like once, the cures don't even need to do anything to change his mind because he just screams while clumsily revealing his backstory and then Komugi gets a wolf in her dreams telling her exactly what to say and Satoru and Daifuku basically deus ex machina their way into the giant Gaou body.
And all of that would be atleast passable if any of the cures had actually important character bits to sort out during it but they don't. Iroha is a given since she is 1% of a real Cure character but it's specially obvious with Komugi's stunt with Subaru, everything Nico does (including the show forgetting Nico didn't even know Subaru existed until last week) and Mayu and Yuki factoring so little into it that their contribution in the final battle boils down to randomly waxing lyrical about how "hate makes you unable to hear".
Which is ironic that the show tries to pretend it's about communication again in the ending considering the way the cures never actually try to sit down and talk to the wolves and just keep yapping at them til they magically get redeemed by sheer luck/deus ex machinas (so glad they can just ignore the entire subject of the wolves resenting humanity because all of them had easily accessible traumas to detour the plot)
