You know I still don't know how you can end Haruhi. There's no answer to all the questions about how her powers work that would be satisfactory. I feel like the author wrote himself into a corner which is why he took so long to write more novels.

I think it will have to be somewhat ambiguous to work. Part of the appeal is the mysterious nature of what’s really going on, and it’s been so many years that the characters and plot are far too cemented for him to do anything big. It’s gotta ride a tightrope of answering questions, while not revealing absolutely everything, or having the integrity of the cast compromised.
