This was a good anime movie, I know people hoped the ending would be similar to Your Name. It's a bit sad, the guy couldn't move on and find love again, while she of course did move on like most women do.

I prefer when Shinkai finds the balance between cinematography and just art expression really. It seems that usually happens in the parts he's most involved with. Shinkai did most of the backgrounds for Cosmonaut himself.
