>currently watching 42 shows
>only have 3 or 4 that I'm planning to drop after episode 3
>there's still more shows that haven't aired yet
Man this season is so fucking packed, specially Saturdays and Sundays.
What are you guys currently watching?
What shows have you dropped or planning to drop?
>sono bisque doll S2
>dandadan S2
>panty and stocking S2
>CITY the animation
>Houseki no Cunny (Ruri no Houseki)
>Takopii no Genzai
It has been a while since I've been watching this many shows at once. Good season.
I'm currently at 49 including leftovers. Still catching up on the flood of new shows from the weekend. I'll be out all of this weekend too, so I'm probably going to fall behind even further
imagine watching any of this slop
couldn't be me
>>280344898 (OP)How many are left if you do the logical thing and drop Isekais, otome isekais and banished-from-the-hero-party shit?
It really feels like there's a lot of good anime lately. I stopped watching for two years but it feels like I've got a decade of backlog.
>>280344898 (OP)>kijin gentoushouExtremely based. What’s going on with cour 2? Last I checked we didn’t get an episode last week. Anyone know when the next eps drop? (I could be retarded because I haven’t checked today, out of the house)
I'll probably be watching more than 20 series this season (again). These last two seasons were rather strong.
>>280344898 (OP)just write out each title and a justification for why you're following it
if your reason is kind of weak compared to the others then you can drop it
I for one don't think I actually need to show up for the next episode of The Water Magician
>>280345983you'd better not have Ruri Rocks among the few shows you are watching

Haven’t seen anybody mentioning Nukitashi anime coming out, I played the VN and I liked it. Wondering how the anime will turn out, the art style isn’t bad. Just a matter of how censored will it be.
>>280344898 (OP)>Ame to Kimi to includednice. hope it keeps up the comf
>still following Anne Shirleyyay
>>280345464>sono bisque doll S2>dandadan S2>panty and stocking S2>CITY the animation>Houseki no Cunny (Ruri no Houseki)based normalfag. Not watching any of this shite.
>>280344898 (OP)Where's a good place to stream this shit? my usual sites all got nuked.
last season i only watched two or three shows and i only finshed one so its a surpised that im watching this many right now
>>280347202>Water Magicianthe first episode was ok
>>280347467maybe hianime? I saw it on theindex and apparently it used to be aniwatch
>>280344898 (OP)>suffering FOMO for anime These anime will always exist, you don't need to watch everything at once lol
>>280347657right, wan piss will get around to ripping them off for page filler so no need to bother watching them
>>280344898 (OP)for me it's simpler. i only watch anime with male mcs and rule out the tranny shows , which are more than half of them
>>280344898 (OP)>3 or 4 that I'm planning to drop after episode 3if you're already planning to drop them why even start?
>>280344898 (OP)Yeah there's too many animes right now. I've been giving animes the episode 1 only watch to see if it's good. Hotel Inhumans was boring so that's a drop
>>280344898 (OP)The rule is that 95% of everything sucks.
already droped mr mistery, necronomico show and detective ojisan, watched 6, 3 drops
>>280344898 (OP)>Bad Girl >CITY THE ANIMATION >Ruri no Houseki>Silent Witch>Hikaru ga Shinda Natsu And that's about it. I will probably check out the first episode of Mikadono Sanshimai wa Angai, Choroi, but like every anime adaptation of a manga that I'm already into, I will most likely not bother to watch it all.
>>280347371There will be uncensored version on AT-X
>>280347657part of the fun is the seasonal threads
>>280345464It's not as bad as Spring but nowhere near as good as Summer '24. That was a great season and I actually kept up with 3 shows start to finish which is rare post-2010's.
>>280348897majorly this
nothing sadder than some isolated anon desperately trying to get others to member the show he just watched from his backlog when those who were there at the time stopped caring about it and moved on
>>280347371People have been talking about it, but still quite a ways off while everything else is dropping now.
From what I know it is going to be really good though, all the nips that got to see the first 3 episodes at an early screening sounded impressed at least.
Im watching 45 right now, this season is much better than the last
Summer last year was great. Spoilt for choice. Now? Eh, only like 3 shows get me to go "I think I'll keep up with it" while the rest draw blank stares. It seems like a filler season. Then again, so has this whole year. 2024 was abound with great stuff across all seasons. 2026 seems like it'll be a big rebound.
>>280344898 (OP)holy shit taste, I also started watching like 30anime per season, then I developed better taste and now I'm only watching like 3 per season.
>>280348955You and I have different tastes I guess. I had to go look and I didn't watch a single show from that season.
folks in this thread saying summer 2024 was good when I don't think I've ever dropped as many shows as I did that season
>>280349135>>280348955>Summer 2024 was greatI feel the complete opposite lol. I did watch some stuff that season, but not as much as this one.
>>280349212Not even Nige Jouzu no Wakagimi?
>>280349319What's there to even watch this season, though? And don't say Rent a Girlfriend and other romance shit or fucking Dandadan. At most, that new Bunny Girl Senpai and Grand Blue are the only ones that look interesting.
>>280344898 (OP)>mondays>2 shows to watch>tuesdays>3 shows to watch>wednesdays>6 shows to watch>thursdays>3 shows to watch>fridays>3 shows to watch>saturdays>10 shows to watch>sundays>8 shows to watchYeah, I usually have to deal with 1 complicated day but now I have 3, there's gotta be a way to make Japan make less anime...
>>280349388Have you tried looking at a chart, watching a trailer, or even reading a blurb?
Useless dullards complaining in every thread that there's nothing to watch in a season because they're too lazy to find anything, then having the nerve to beg those who have done the work for recommendations
>>280349337No, but you reminded me that I was planning on watching that one because it looked like it had really good animation.
>>280344898 (OP)I'm just glad we all agree
Summer > Winter > Spring
>>280346887It's coming back next week.
>>280349511I obviously have (am looking at Anichart in another tab) and what I said still stands. Nothing but a sea of mediocrity.
>>280344898 (OP)Im just watching City and Ruri no Houseki
>>280349535Watch it right now. But do beware though, side effects are abound...
>Sono Bisque Doll wa Koi wo Suru Season 2
>Kaoru Hana wa Rin to Saku
>Yofukashi no Uta Season 2
>Seishun Buta Yarou wa Santa Claus no Yume wo Minai
>Clevatess: Majuu no Ou to Akago to Shikabane no Yuusha
>Watari-kun no xx ga Houkai Sunzen
>Ruri no Houseki
>Mattaku Saikin no Tantei to Kitara
>Bad Girl
>Futari Solo Camp
and Witch Watch that is ongoing.
That's all I'll follow weekly this summer, the rest, if anything interesting exists, I'll watch after it is completed.
>>280344898 (OP)I cut down on a lot of stuff by not bothering with most of the isekai shows. Currently at 23 newly airing shows for the season including two shorts, and Food Court which is only 6 episodes.
I typed "this season isn't doing it for me so far", but then I went to check and "only" 5 anime grabbed my attention, which is usually the normal for me. Last season was the outlier with me watching 15 anime.
>>280349894As far as isekai goes, I'm only watching the ugly bastard one.
>>280349866it sounds like this was a preconceived conclusion you worked backwards from, and if you actually thoroughly ruled everything out you wouldn't be in this thread begging for recs
>>280349931last season was very cute
2025 as a whole has been a writeoff thus far. Winter and Spring came and went without a single notable release and Summer only has isekai and cour shit.
>>280344898 (OP)>Nothing even remotely lolicon I envy you on a level as there's nothing for lolicons to watch again.
>>280349981I don't believe you people are literate
>>280349951I was going to watch it but after skimming the first episode I felt it was just a slight twist on the whole "become overpowered from the start" genre.
>>280349988Just rewatch Brigadoon or something. A modern lolicon anime won't have that level of quality or creativity.
>>280349965I never once begged for recs. Just being in this thread doesn't imply that. Besides, I said I'll watch two shows and that's it. A downgrade from last summer when I was following about 10 shows weekly and went halfway with 3 others.
>>280349891Akihito Tsukushi has failed to turn me, but one of his characters has certainly made me feel conflicting feelings.
>>280350035More like willingness.
>>280349891Shota isn't gay though but lusting for a male after puberty is gay. Simple as.
So far the only shows I'm really looking forward to are Silent Witch and Ruri no Houseki, with the latter probably going to be the standout show of the season.
With that being said, I think you usually only find 1 or 2 really great shows per season and that number has been pretty consistent for years, even though the total number of shows in a season fluctuates.
>>280350043I can follow the reply chain since I can read
>>280350140Futari Solo Camp might be interesting too, and also I agree, you only see one or two really interesting and good new anime per season at best, sequels notwithstanding.
>>280350095The Greeks knew this
>>280350220Futari Solo Camp and Detectives These Days Are Crazy! are psyops I'm sure of it, both featuring mid 30's men who are going at life solo meeting 18-20yo females who they get along with and have a lot of fun and adventures.
>>280350304It's funny because 20 years ago shows were about highschool boys meeting their manic pixie dream girl (bonus points for if the girl falls from the sky) and going on wild adventures. We've all gotten old...
>>280350364Ah I miss those days, bonus for yellow text IRC server downloaded hard encoded fansubs ...
>>280350304>Detectives These Days Are Crazy!I was worried it was going to suck because it's not easy to adapt manga humour into 20-minute episodes but I was pleasantly surprised.
Never change, contrarian /a/. I have so much to watch this season I won't possibly stay caught up.
High expectations:
>CITY THE ANIMATION
>DAN DA DAN Season 2
>Kaijuu 8-gou 2nd Season
>New PANTY & STOCKING with GARTERBELT
>Puniru wa Kawaii Slime 2nd Season
>Ruri no Houseki
>Sono Bisque Doll wa Koi wo Suru Season 2
Moderate expectations:
>Ame to Kimi to
>Game Center Shoujo to Ibunka Kouryuu (Nomad's output is iffy. I hoping this will be like Alice Gear)
>Grand Blue Season 2
>Hikaru ga Shinda Natsu (Cygames has been REALLY good lately)
>Jigoku Sensei Nube
>Karaoke Iko (Doga Kobo fan)
>Muchu-sa, Kimi ni (Doga Kobo fan)
>Necronomico no Cosmic Horror Show (Studio Gokumi fan)
>Osomatsu-san 4th Season
>Silent Witch: Chinmoku no Majo no Kakushigoto (Studio Gokumi fan)
>Yofukashi no Uta Season 2
Low expectations but I'll try it/don't know what expect but I liked the manga:
>Dekin no Mogura
>Food Court de, Mata Ashita
>Futari Solo Camp
>Kakkou no Iinazuke Season 2
>Mattaku Saikin no Tantei to Kitara
>Mikadono Sanshimai wa Angai, Choroi (let's roll the PA works dice)
>Seishun Buta Yarou wa Santa Claus no Yume wo Minai
>Watari-kun no xx ga Houkai Sunzen
>Watashi ga Koibito ni Nareru Wake Nai jan, Muri Muri! (※Muri ja Nakatta!?)
>Bad Girl
???
>KAMITSUBAKI-shi Kensetsuchuu
>Kaoru Hana wa Rin to Saku (Is this great Cloverworks or bad Cloverworks?)
>MILKYSUBWAY THE GALACTIC LIMITED EXPRESS
>Nyaight of the Living Cat (Is this by the Dark Gathering people at OLM, since it's also horror?)
>Turkey!
>>280350481I liked Milky Subway. It's a fun little short.
>>280344898 (OP)Last season I started with 12 shows but dropped all but 2. The burnout is real...
Haven't started this one yet but hopefully it'll be better.
>>280350463Hanazawa Kana as voice actress for the female lead was quite pleasant too
I'm watching almost everything. it's easier to say what I'll probably drop: gachiakuta, hotel inhumans, necronomico, nine ruler and ame to kimi
There are only so many free hours per week :( I can fit maybe 2 hours of watching per day in, and my watchlist from the past is so long already.
>>280344898 (OP)I wouldn´t call the season packed, i don´t think there is that much to watch.
I´m watching Uchuujin Muumuu, Witch Watch, Dr Stone, Kaiju n8, Silent Witch, Clevatess and the time traveling fantasy one (can´t remember the name). I´ll probably watch the 7th prince second season as well and the water magician or whatever that´s called and maybe City.
That´s pretty much it i think. Not great but what can you do...
>>280350641>gachiakutaYeah same.
>hotel inhumansI think I'll stick with it for a bit longer. I really hate the "assassin" cliche that Japs came up with but we'll see how the rest of the show is.
>necronomicoI just didn't like the look of it.
>nine rulerI'm enjoying it. It's really got that "VN" feel with the way the plot moves along.
>ame to kimiI liked the manga, I think it's a decent adaptation and I'm a sucker for iyashikei.
>>280350602I usually start with about 20 and cut it down to 12-14. Last season was an outlier at 9.
>>280350625 is what I'm watching this season, posted in the dead thread by mistake.
>>280350761I'm surprised by how well Clevatess has been received. After watching the first episode I felt the manga was a bit snappier so I decided not to continue.
>>280350761Just realized I missed marking Bad Girl as watching too. Should have just posted a text list
>>280350849I imagine the anime will pass the manga TLs this season, eng is only up to like ch24
>>280348955>>280349135>>280349319I get that different things will attract the attention of different people but this discrepancy is almost unfathomable to me. I just don't see how summer 2024 could be considered great. It wasn't just a weak season. It was weak relative to 2024 as a whole. Meanwhile, the shows I'm excited for this season are piling up. How did everything get so fragmented? We used to be able to have a consensus on some things like how 2006 and 2011 are among the best years for anime.
>>280350901It's up to chapter 28, and I figured that since there's a major climax a few chapters before that, that's where the anime might end as well since it's only 12 episodes.
>>280351049>How did everything get so fragmented? We used to be able to have a consensus on some things like how 2006 and 2011 are among the best years for anime. They produce a fuckton of series a season now and just throw everything at the wall to see what sticks. Even going back a few years you'll see just how much more gets churned out now
I wrote mine up and was able to kill off some items from my list just as I thought I could. Now post yours and we can discuss each other's!
>DanDaDan
A chic modern gyaru who happens to be of a traditional religious household and gifted with spiritual powers is peak gap moe, and the entire rest of the show hasn’t yet gotten annoying enough to give up now
>Kisekoi
Marin is just too powerful of a romcom love interest to give up on catching up
>Kaoru Hana wa Rin to Saku
Refined private school maidens and delinquents with a heart of gold are the best pairing
>Aobuta
Haven’t finished the three-episode rule yet and am looking forward to seeing the fight scene in context, probably dropping afterwards
>Yofukashi no Uta
Already a perfect representation of the night life aesthetic, now exploring the more intimate tragic romance aspects, also Mirage is an excellent OP for the mood and I won’t apologize for liking it more than Daten
>Witch Watch
Consistently funny gag manga even if not all of the jokes hit, and when they do the laughter is uproarious
>The Water Magician
The next big battle iyashikei? I’m not sure if I need it
>Isekai Mokushiroku Mynoghra
Atou (Atu?) is so fucking hot that she has to be acknowledged even if there is literally nothing else going for this
>A Couple of Cuckoos
Hiro is a perfect character made even more perfect by being a miko, but two characters forced together by external powers but learning to love each other anyway is also good, so are delinquent parents
>Gachiakuta
Bones battle shounen with a cool dark aesthetic, I forget whether I like this kind of thing or not
>Secrets of the Silent Witch
Witch-themed narou are normally pretty fun, though I’m not as engaged with it as other anons. Friday is going to be lighter when I drop some other shows so it’s no big burden
...
>>280344898 (OP)I picked up all the isekai and fantasy. Theres like 15 of them this season, definitely more than spring!. I binged the series that are getting sequels beforehand so im caught up. My favorite debuts have been
>gachi fighter>vending machine s2>banished white mageI have high hopes for new saga and isekai mokushiroku mynoghra as we get more eps. I love fantasy so much, bros.
...
>Kijin Gentosho
Carryover from Spring. Alternates between comfy depressing drama to hardcore depressing drama, and has a nice jidaigeki aeshtetic that makes it a highlight of a slow day
>Kanokari
I actually like Chizuru as a character and her and Kazuya as a couple, and the other girls contribute interesting drama as their respective interests collide. I only wish the pace wasn’t so insultingly slow. Saved by Tuesday also being a slow day
>Private Tutor to the Duke’s Daughter
The way MC confidently operates around underaged girls who have the hots for him is amazing to watch
>New Saga
Mankind’s futile struggle against fate is a classic theme and a time travel plot in a fantasy setting stands out against typical isekai
>The Summer Hikaru Died
Horror anime is rare and precious, and boy anime is rarer than it should be. Still need to sit down and watch the episode though
>Tougen Anki
Might be a redundant shounen dark fantasy but I might have space for it on Friday
>Summer Pockets
The meta mystery of the island feels far more interesting than any of the girl routes have been, but the girls are also nice, so I’m looking forward to how this second cour develops
>Clevatess
Impressive retro trad fantasy, and plots where an evil lord is humanized into domestic settings like child rearing make for nice comedy
>Watanare
Funny yuri harem comedy, lack of comment is not necessarily lack of quality
>Watari-kun
Obnoxious boundary-pushing childhood friends are cute. Fits right into Casual Friday
>The Shy Hero and the Assassin Princesses
Absolutely off the rails in terms of visuals and plot, but Saturday is busy so it might get cut
>Mikadono Sisters
The romcoms of the season are nicely spread out throughout the week so that I can just watch all of them without much thought. I guess the tall one with the short purple hair is hot? I did see a trailer but I forgot everything about it
...
>>280351049The "community" is a lot bigger and there's less of a focus on a standard canon of works everyone should have watched so there's a much wider variation of taste. Also there are so many shows and people tend to fixate on the few shows they like rather than the many shows they didn't care about.
With that being said, what did you think was good about Summer 2024? That might be a good way to gauge where you stand, although I agree that it was kind of bland overall. For my part the shows I liked in that season were:
Wistoria
Make Heroine
Nige Jouzu no Wakagimi
Giji Harem
Delico's Nursery
>>280344898 (OP)Anime amount bloat is genuinely becoming a problem
The amount of shows is getting too big and people will have to filter them out somehow and when watching the first ep and even the trailer becomes too much they will start just going for what's already popular/trending
You can already start to see this with the amount of tiktok dances in OPs
>>280351049bro, summer 2024 was very strong all things considered. atri, makein, monogatari, elusive samurai, shoushimin.. all those were on saturday alone. boku no tsuma, bye bye earth, dungeon people, debugger isekai, giji harem, gimai, isekai shikkaku, mayopunch, cafe terrace s2, oshi no ko s2, alya, spice and wolf, fable, shikanoko, shinmai ossan, vtuber...
there might not have been tons of masterpieces but still a very strong season, you could easily find yourself at least 5 shows to watch if you're really picky. it was legit one of the best summers I remember.
>>280351175>Private Tutor to the Duke’s DaughterI found the dialogue nauseatingly bland, unfortunately.
...
>Takopi’s Original Sin
Instant AOTS, only this low on the list because it’s sorted by popularity and it’s hurt by ONA discrimination
>Betrothed to My Sister’s Ex
Mistreated By My Family and Sold To a Foreign Kingdom kino, stfu main character though
>Broken Saintess
Saintess kino and revenge kino in one package? If only I could see it
>Detectives These Days Are Crazy
Alternate funny 2japan4u gag manga
>Solo Camping for Two
Slice of life but with adults? Might win on execution but might also be a quick drop
>With You and the Rain
Aesthetic-dominated anime with pretty 30-something hag character, chances of her constructed reality crumbling around her lesser than last season
>Game Center Girl
Culture shock, miscommunication comedy, interracial romance? Shame she isn’t an elf
>Bad Girl
Extremely horny yuri comedy with a moe aesthetic, can coexist with Watanare since they seem to do different things
>Ugly Hayamin
Should like in theory but Hayamin’s character is unbearable. Want to see more of the boy before I drop it though
>Nukitashi
The proper ecchi of the season, looks ridiculous and funny
>City
It’s KyoAni! Wouldn’t give it another thought but for the provenance
Nyaight of the Living Cat
Just how long can they keep up this joke? The cat cafe setting is comfy too
>Haigakura
A BL fantasy? Interesting on its face
>Hotel Inhumans
Continuing the hotelier anime trend, but this one is the Continental from John Wick? Need to get around to it still
>Kamitsubaki City Under Construction
A high-energy post-apocalyptic setting with a strong visual and animation style? Could be the next Momentary Lily or just a flimsy vehicle for vtubers, only time will tell
>Necronomico and the Cosmic Horror Show
Complete visual chaos in a way that is pleasing to me
>Harmony of Mille-Feuille
I just remember Sachiko’s mom making mille-feuille for Yumi in Marimite and nothing in the trailers goes against this association
>the gay Doga Kobos
need I say any more than those words
>>280344898 (OP)I'm watching 4 shows, which is twice the number I usually watch. This season is great.
>>280351218>people will have to filter them out somehowI make my list of what seems interesting from descriptions/manga i've read. Then try what seems to be popular here/what is recommended by friends. This is how I end up with around 15 shows a season and is basically necessary since they started shitting out 40+ shows a season
>>280351330Same except I look at the short descriptions on anichart. I usually download all the first episodes and skim them though, just in case.
>>280349810Thanks anon much appreciated
>nobody's watching Fermat's kitchen
p-please.. just give it a try..
>>280351330that's kind of what i try to do but a lot of stories just have absolute garbage descriptions like
>Takeshi is a high school boy who just moved to Tokyo. What mysteries will he find there...?and then the thread reaches bump count in 3 hours
>>280351519In cases like this trailers are invaluable, since how better to showcase a medium than to show off its visuals? Some of my favorite pickups this season had absolutely nothing going for them in text, but text can't convey how hot the waifus are
imo you're missing out on at least 1 gem per season if you don't try out everything. yea, it's a bit time consuming, but if you like anime and it's your main hobby, I don't see why you can't do that. I always end up discovering great shows like that. I don't mind descriptions and trailers but I never make decisions based on them
>>280351467if they reschedule it to Monday or we agree to save the thread till Monday then I'll consider it, but Saturday is just too busy to take a chance on Gourmet Steins;Gate
I never actually did see Steins;Gate and am not planning to in the future so I have no idea if that association is accurate
>>280344898 (OP)I'm only watching around 10 but I feel as overwhelmed as you sound
>>280351177>Wistoria>Make Heroine>Giji Harem>Delico's NurseryNone of these.
>Nige Jouzu no WakagimiHaven't watched this one but I might try it in the future, but it's low on my priority list. I think the best anime of the season was Kimi ni Todoke season 3 but it was a netflix batch dump which kind of ruined the experience. So among the weekly airing anime, it was Mahoaku, but that was a half-length episode show. So that leaves Shoushimin for regular full-length weekly airing shows. I'll also give a mention to Sakuna-hime for being a fun but ultimately inconsequential vidya adaptation.
>>280351177was Alya summer 2024? that one was fun
>>280344898 (OP)is this a joke anon>?
the summer season is chock full of absolute trash if you aren't deepthroating S2/S3s
I can only think of 3 or 4 shows worth watching
>>280351177the evil lieutenant and magical girl tribute anime was good, thanks bones
>>280351741Not really, it just has a lot of S2s too
>>280351741>I can only think of 3 or 4 shows worth watchingName them I dare you
I have an idea of what they are, but if you surprise me and name something I like too then you win the thread
>>280351177Summer 2024 had Makeine and Nige Jouzu. Those were probably the best 2 shows of the season. Giji Harem, Alya, and Dungeon no Naka were kinda fun too. It was a weak season though
>>280351584>if you like anime and it's your main hobby, I don't see why you can't do that. But it's not my main hobby. I also read manga and light novels and heavy novels and play visual novels and JRPGs and gacha games.
The only otaku hobbies I managed to stay out of are idols and vtubers, but since I've learned the Japanese language I feel like those are also slowly becoming inevitable, only being kept at bay by my physical lack of time.
>>280351689>MahoakuCrap I forgot about that one, it was fantastic. I didn't like Shoushimin at first when it aired, it took a while for me to appreciate it as a character show instead of a mystery show. I guess you're prefer more character-focused shows, so things that are weaker on that end in favour of action or otaku pandering appeal a lot less to you.
>>280351728Yeah it was. The romcom bits were fine but the drama was cringeworthy.
>>280351237does anyone really care what lolis have to say?
can't imagine watching that many anime while holding a job tbhwy
>>280351861It was the MC's lines delivered in that cotton-wrapped, plodding way that really did me in.
>>280351883some jobs are amenable to you watching anime while you work
>>280351761>>280351837>>280351689>Mahoakuah that's what the short-form is, yeah that one was amazing, a great job by Bones

Out of the 3 I thought I’d drop, being Nerconomico, Nyaight of the Living Cats, and Mattaku Saikin, 2 made it through.
For Necronomico, it being a death game original and the neatish weird designs have me interested enough to continue. Hope it ends up being good. Also the subs being fucked was funny.
The Neko anime understands how stupid it is and is actually a bit of fun so far, hope it goes crazier.
Mattuku just isn’t clicking with me comedy wise and character wise, the and the animation being perfectly average doesn’t help it, unless it swerves into better territory, it’s dropped next episode tomorrow. (It’s reminding me a bit of Shikanoko too)
>>280351467I just feel bad for any show airing on saturdays or sundays this season.
>>280351236I only watched Makein, Monogatari and Shoushimin. I heard good things about dungeon people after it ended so it went onto the eternal backlog, maybe I'll get around to watching it in 20 years. I dropped shikanoko after 1 episode. None of the rest interests me.
>>280352180you've exceeded my expectations, anon, well done
still need to catch up to some of the weekend anime, but if you've named those then I can say that Clevatess is a solid recommend
>>280351218When deciding to drop a show I try to remember what happened 2 episodes earlier. If I have to think hard, chances are I'm subconciously not enjoying it much or will definitely forget about it next season.
>>280352400this is a good technique, but then suddenly I remember everything about it and get hyped up for it again while also congratulating myself on having a good memory
>>280352379I'm getting too old and finding that free time is too valuable to burn on things I'm not actively invested in at this point, so the list of shows worth watching in a given season typically ends up around 3-4 most of the time

>>280344898 (OP)>>currently watching 42 showsI haven't watched that many in the past 5 years combined
The season isn't "packed", you just have no standards whatsoever
>>280352679>watching everything on the days they come outthe worst part is the least popular shows you have like 6 hours to watch before the thread dies so you have to be in a hurry if you want to discuss the show at all
>>280352728>I'm not a geology guyNor am I, but I'm always drawn to shows where there's a possibility that I might pick up some surface-level knowledge.
As for Silent Witch, if you liked Comic Girls you'll like this as well.
>>280352736can it please be a codified rule that anyone who says this has to name the select few shows that they did curate for themselves?
>>280352605I had it flagged as considering but then I heard someone diss the guy's hair and took it as an excuse to nix it, though that might not have been justified
What do you think of Clevatess and New Saga, and how would you rank the three?
>>280352907Yeah the MC looks kind of stupid and I was a bit concerned at first by his appearance but so far he's been alright.
As for Clevatess and New Saga, I read the manga for both. New Saga is finished (about 110 chapters) and the adaptation looks kind of generic and a bit cheap so I didn't bother. As for Clevatess, I felt that the adaptation had decent production values but that the manga is just more slick so I decided not to bother retreading old ground. Plotwise Clevatess is probably on top, followed by New Saga (although the ending was quite rushed) and then Heian.
>>280349021I watch anime and don't make threads on /a/. It's gay.
>>280352779It particularly irks me, not sure about him, how these CGDCT series just get churned out with evermore niche topics that a passive watcher might find mildly interesting, like if you just let the youtube algorithm run on its own while you sleep and see what it finds for you when you wake up, but then the autists who watch these things won't shut up about how hot whatever basic ass design for the girls they drew up for them are even though girls of the isekai or the romcoms of the season are obviously hotter
>>280353164>these CGDCT series just get churned out with evermore niche topics that a passive watcher might find mildly interestingHuh, never thought of it that way before. I guess it is worth wondering how much the original creator is actually invested in the topic. As for designs, to me it's more an issue of production values. I'd prefer a well-animated basic design than a horribly animated fancy design.
>>280351671Why would you not want to watch Steins;Gate?
>>280348897Do you guys even watch old anime?
>>280353498I have watched lots of old anime and still do chip away at the backlog during days of the week where I have 0 seasonals or 1. Seasonal watching is a social experience though, you're not going to have threads about some 18 year old show
>>280353498If I have time left in the day, I'll chip away at my backlog. Currently watching Dai Mahou Touge which is hilarious, and I finished Assemble Insert a few days ago.
>>280353498I used to weave it during the season during the empty days but now that seasons are getting so bloated I am doing that less often instead of raising my standards
The only thing this season is lacking is mecha, unless I overlooked it.
>>280353498All the time. When I finish a good one I think what threads for this used to be like and it kinda stings that I wasn't there. You can always watch anime, but you can't always participate in discussions in the height of it's relevancy. If you don't care about it you do you, but for me it's part of the fun. I probably wouldn't have liked Shoushimin as much if I wasn't there in the threads when it aired, they were so fucking fun.
I'm watching 3 seasonal anime this season which is 3 more than what I usually watch so it's nice
>>280353498there's maybe 200 essentials that everyone has to watch before you get down to a baseline seasonal terebianime crud that has always existed and will always exist, and it's a six o' one whether any one anime handled its themes better than any other, and in that case it's better to favor the ones that are fresh that people want to talk about
>>280353495Don't you ever see a classic and then just choose not to watch it? Because of reasons?
>>280353019>although the ending was quite rushedThat's a bit of an understatement.
>>280353708Airing threads are fun but having to watch 40+ shows every season within a couple of hours of airing so I can catch the threads would be more stressing than enjoyable for me.
Not saying that it's wrong or anything like that, but I don't really care about "missing out" on threads especially since I frequently watch stuff from one or two seasons ago.
>>280353668I think you’re right, the closest I think I saw is someone piloting a tank mech in Orange’s Leviathan.
i literally can't watch anything anymore and its not because the anime are bad but just because i stopped caring after watching so many shows. unless its god tier im not watching.
I'm only watching 2, I cannot be bothered with anything else
>>280353945That's fair. I find that sometimes I enjoy a show more if I watch it in a more comfortable time than one after the other, so there's always a trade off, especially in packed seasons like this. I always kinda settle on the shows I wanna watch as soon as they air for the threads, and shows I can watch later if I don't care about the threads.

>>280344898 (OP)I'll probably drop isekai and ln sloppa as usual.
Also, there's 40+ shows but only 2 or 3 good enough for aots/aoty.
I couldn't dig Food Court, the OP was cute but if it's just those two shooting the shit every week I'll probably drop it
>>280383822i just don't bother to check early anymore, 1 week before it airs the nips announce 20 bangers
>>280384379It's something I might have watched in an empty season
>>280384379It's a good manga, but stuff like that is hard to adapt without pacing issues.
>>280384929Is not like there's anything else to watch on mondays dude.
>>280385622I got three series that day, and maybe a fourth if I feel like learning what a Grand Blue is
>>280385622there is the backlog from sunday which you spend clearing the backlog from saturday
>>280385668U rike the sea, drunk naked guys, innuendos and yanderes?
>>280344898 (OP)>MondayMuri muri and food court
>Tuesdaygarbage, I sleep
>WednesdayUchuujin
>Thursdaygarbage, I sleep
>FridayTakopii and solo camp
>SaturdayBisque doll and Bad girl
>SundayGame center, Puniru, City and Nyaight of the cat
>>280383720Anon, these anime won't disappear. You can watch them anytime.
>>280387392>these anime won't disappearBut the /a/ threads will
>>280358135I work on Sundays and by the time I go home either the thread died or I'm too tired to browse 4chan
>>280387392there is literally no reason to preemptively put currently airing anime on your backlog. If it's one of the 6-10 series that passes Sturgeon's Law then it's important enough to watch live, and if it isn't then it's not going to be worth revisiting after it's already gone stale.
>>280387392Meh, I'm on a rewatch spree lately and not advancing my >>>>>>>>backlog so I would rather not accumulate seasonals.
>>280387471True that. After 13 years of seasonals, the only one I ever watched after the fact was FAG and I absolutely regret it since the threads apparently were amazing.
I wait for shows I want to watch to finish airing so I can watch the entirety in one sitting. I read vns in the meantime
>>280367443>Its a double edged sword because anons are so comfortable spoiling adaptationsAdaptations suck 99% of the time, read the source material.
>>280387600>no, I won't stop binging shows that were intended as a week-to-week ongoing serial experience!>no, I won't acknowledge that VNs are games even though I've been shown the receipts!
>>280387392Watching seasonal anime is mostly about novelty, hype, and having something to talk about. If I were actually prioritizing quality, I’d stick to completed series.
>>280389105Right, so the most normalfag zoomer reasons. Ill stick to watching my backlogs like the oldfag i am.

only watching green and maybe yellow
>>280351467It's okay me and you will just have comfy threads together
>>280358135Most of the retards in this type of threads are not in a series threads lol
>>280387392Watching with /a/ is half the fun, though to be fair lately every thread gets attacked, before only the popular shows got that...
