Even with all its badass moments, the series constantly reminds you that Kaiji is a loser because of his gambling addiction.
Even in the current arc they have been constantly remarking that he is too deep in the rabbit hole, that having a "normal" life is now impossible for him and gambling will inevitably lead to his ruin. I still don't think the series will have a Bad ending tho
