In the Matrix saga the last time the main character used a gun at all was about 3/4th into the first out of four movies after that he only fights with martial arts and telekinesis... and maybe a pipe for like two times. And usually gunfights are just gunfights, there's barely any gunkata in it.
In Equilibrium the main character uses a katana few times, but he primarily fights with guns and uses gunkata often.

My sister was like that when we were younger, but in her case, it was justified (cartoons in the 90s led me to believe it was the older sibling's job to pick on the younger sibling and encourage a sibling rivalry).

Eventually, she mellowed out as I eased off on the bullying and now just gets irritated whenever I do something that she dislikes, like when I unintentionally pass gas while we're in the same room together.

In Equilibrium it's actually lore that has been established from the beginning. If someone has capabilities of a grammaton cleric they can calculate the behavior of others mathematically and can analyze on the spot what their psychological blind-spots are. If it's a fight between two grammaton clerics the better one just wins at greater distance, period. When they are closer up it results in a tussle like in the webm I posted earlier. They redirect the gun muzzle away from themselves rather than dodging bullets in that particular fight, so it drags out longer, but the better, more capable one ultimately comes out victorious.

In general the issue is that one proper hit with a gun usually results in at least incapacitation, maybe even death, unless it's some kind of lucky miss that hit a very non-vital, or it hit some kind of mcguffin cliché metal plate or if it's some kind of Kevlar vest gambit to begin with.
