It was said that her clan became partially mamono themselves after serving Flute for generations. Her skeleton is literally made of crystal. So I doubt that.

Lune is just a human who's affected by Flute. Mitsukais are permanently like that from birth. Although, maybe that'd be their next goal if Mitsukai does join - find a way to make her normal.

I kinda feel sorry for Flute.
Oki made a mistake by humanizing her, she is like a kid that constantly wants attention but won't receive any because the villagers see her human form as impure.

Why are there only humans (human-likes) in the “country of monsters”? Is it because they can transform into monsters in some cases? Someone please explain.

I was surprised at the scale of the attack before this was revealed. I figured it was just going to be him and a handful of guys trying to sneak in to assassinate Flute. But knowing he's been seething about this basically his entire life it makes sense he'd be trying to wipe out the whole village.

That's not the problem. Flute learned from Oki that acting human earned her praise, which became like a drug to her once she could understand words. The villagers loved her human form, that's why she hated the thought of turning back.

Mitsukai's mom literally told her that when Oki taught her how to speak she became "corrupted" and that the villagers shouldn't see her because she looks like a human.
The village sees being human as bad but Flute turning them into monsters/crystals as a blessing.

I interpreted it the same way that anon did. That the villagers, or at least the Mistukais, considered her humanization by Oki to have been a kind of corruption. Even when they say her human form looks pretty they fit in some human hate. She was praiseworthy in spite of her humanness, not because of it.
Being able to understand humans did make it possible for her to try and keep up the pretenses of their religion. But that appears to have been pretty much entirely made up by the Mitsukais in order to manage her and the villagers.

as we saw with the flashback in this chapter, flute says out loud she forgot about how the villagers see crystallization as atonement
we see in chapter 20 that flute again forgot that they see crystallization that way, and then she goes on about how all those concepts are made up
besides realizing that flute's ego is growing like crazy, they need to keep them separating because flute is going to say/do something that reveals it's all a sham

if look at the chapter, you'd see they already saw her in that form, and her humanoid form did not become a secret afterwards either
